Pep Guardiola vs Jose Mourinho - Bayern vs Chelsea

 

Sure, he wants Bayern to keep the ball, pass from the back, drive the opponant back when possible...those are his ideas. But every team is different and cant have the Bayern players play in the exact same way Barcelona's did. They dont have Xavi, Iniesta and Messi playing triangles in the midfield, overloading the space and then if you get too close, explode out of it.

The reason Mourinho was finally able to compete with Barca was because he realised the importance of flooding the middle. He put numbers in there and he had a defender leave the back to follow Messi all the way out. This presented Barca with more space on the flanks, but we dont have good 1 v 1 players out there so they were easily nullified.

How can Mourinho take that plan to Bayern when they dont try and force the play down the middle and have players who can dominate in the 1 v 1 down the sides like Ribery and Robben?

The only thing Mourinho can take from his experience against Barcelona is you better high press Bayern in defence when you can. But thats something every coach should know by now.

The Mourinho overhype

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in two years and 11 matches of something like this Mou only beat Guardiola twice. Three times in 15 matches if we also count his time at Inter.

I am not saying he can't win this time, but to say things like "he figured out how to beat Guardiola" is a joke. Especially when Pep tactically raped him in some matches (3-1 win at Bernabeu in 2011, for example).

Judging by the way he set up at OT i'm guessing there will be 10 defenders for Chelsea.

Same old boring Mourinho

Considering the fact that Chelsea's players are still getting used to his style it makes sense that Jose would use a "safe" approach. Chelsea value winning over entertaining neutrals/fans of other teams anyway so I doubt anyone over there has a problem with it.

Lets hope the positive offensive coach(Pep) wins.

Chelsea is Bayern's bogey side.

So yeah, Chelsea will win, and Pepzzzz will be 0 for 2 in his trophy-record at Bayern.

Dat E'eto signing should make it even more intresting now.

There is no doubt Chelsea isn't remotely close to the level of Super Munchen, but I literally have zero confidence in Pep.

So who knows what will happen tomorrow...

Would be interesting to see if Eto'o plays although you'd think its a bit too soon for me.
