It would have been interesting to see Quags play more. But clearly Conte did not prefer him under his tactics. Those numbers would have gone way down if Matri and Quags were playing every game and starting. It helps to come in at the 70th minute when most of your opponents have been playing the entire game and are tired. Or, it also helps to start every three or four games and not be fatigued from playing every game.

Both players could have good careers at mid-level teams. I'd actually really like to see Quags at Fiorentina. I think that would be a good fit for him and the team. I'd like to see him keep Fiorentina near the top if Jovetic leaves.

Most efficient is another story, but you also have to look at shots per goal

I don't blame Marchisio for not having a high goal rate. He is a CM that was asked to play as a SS. He belongs in the midfield where he can create and defend.

And, yeah, Jovetic is not going to be playing CM. Marchisio will still be starting. Vucinic is going to the bench.

He won't be playing there either. Marchisio will continue to start for Juve unless he is sold. If he is sold (which is unlikely), Pogba will be starting. Conte isn't going to start three strikers.

If Jovetic comes, he'll be in the front two. And we won't play 3-4-1-2

Marchisio is not a striker, he shouldn't be relied upon to score a steady stream of goals.

His finishing is poor, but he brings so much to the table. I'm surprised how much hate he gets, great player. Key part of our success.

I know that, I'm just saying. Also, the thing with Matri is he is one of the absolute worst players I have ever seen in terms of creating his own shot. Marchisio's finishing is quite atrocious, luckily it isn't his job but it would be nice if he could improve in that area because for the number of chances he gets he should score 15 goals a season.

Please...Matri is the worst striker we have in our team.This stats doesn't mean anything about his quality.His ball control is terrible and i don't think that our 3-5-2 formation is the problem,he just doesn't have the skills.Hope we sell him this summer and get few moneys.

We're not going to Use 3 strikers ever, not to mention one of them playing as a CAM.

If Jovetic comes then he'll be playing with somebody in a 3-1-4-2/3-5-2 formation. I don't know why anybody would think otherwise.

That's much too deep to play Jovetic, also you're asking for too much here. It's either a narrow approach with Jovetic in that role, or its the 3-5-2 with more emphasis on the wings, you can't have both. Also, there's not enough defensive work going on and you're limiting Vidal.

Too many problems with that formation for me. Nice idea on paper but I don't see the functionality.

I feel safe in guaranteeing that Jovetic will NOT be playing in a Giaccherini role. He will be playing only as a striker. We will not spend up to 30 million on a player and then change his position. That would be foolish.

Even if Joventic could play as a CAM, that leaves our defense exposed when we play with a three man back line. CMs like Marchisio and Pogba are great at defending and you can't just take one of them out and replace them with a striker and still have three defenders. It just doesn't work like that. It might on videos games, but not in real life.

I don't think Jovetic would play CAM.If we keep using 3-5-2 then our attack should be Jovetic-Llorente.

Personaly i prefer a 4-3-3 like this:

AC MILAN was playing with PIRLO, KAKA, SHEVA, INZAGHI who none of them was good on defense, so what is the problem JUVENTUS to do the same?

VIDAL + ASAMOAH + LINCHTAINER + BARZAGLI + BONNUCI + CHIELLINI to play on defensive role 6 players same as

SERGINHO + MALDINI + NESTA + CAFU + SEEDORF + GATUSSO that are 6 players as well,,

so why would you think this may not work for JUVENTUS?

You're talking about taking a very talented young striker and converting him into a CAM, and putting more strikers in doesn't automatically mean better attacks and more goals.

I think if Conte done what you want him to do, we would not win the league.


3-4-1-2 is hard enough to defend with as it is, but then you factor in the fact that our DM is Pirlo and our wingbacks are told to get forward whenever they can, you have 3 CB's + Vidal doing the majority of the defending. This is suicide.

Not to mention the added defensive workload would stop our top scorer Vidal from getting forward as much.

Milan were playing players in position, and playing with a back 4 and 2 CM's to cover Pirlo.

We'd have Vidal trying to cover for Pirlo, Jovetic and still doing his other duties.

That's a tactical nightmare.

If we ever decided to xwitch to a 3-4-1-2 (Why the hell would we?) then Pirlo would have to go, playing Pirlo at this age in that formation would result in us being destroyed by any team who could string a few passes together.
