Arsenal make €28m Jovetic bid

La Stampa is today suggesting that Premiership giants Arsenal have made Fiorentina an offer for Steven Jovetic.

The Montenegro international is expected to leave the Tuscan club this summer and he has a number of admirers.

Arsenal have reportedly wasted little time in making a €28m offer – that’s just €2m less than the club’s asking price.

Italian champions Juventus are also known to be keen on the forward who had initially asked to leave the Viola last summer.

JoJo’s agent, Fali Ramadani, will now hold talks with the Turin giants to see if the Old Lady can get anywhere near that Arsenal offer.

Speculation suggests that the Bianconeri could offer cash and a player from either Fabio Quagliarella or Alessandro Matri.

The 23-year-old scored 13 goals in 31 League games for the Viola this season.

VUCINIC is known for his creativity, his footballing intelligence, and I don't think it is a good idea to replace him with someone who doesn't have good assist statistics or someone who is creative,

most of the times you see 3 players waiting for counter-attack, and one of them has to be more creative so he can organize a counter-attack, or he can create a chance when the opponents park the bus, such as VUCINIC, KRASIC, DIEGO, NEDVED, ZIDANE

the other two players should be good goal poachers such as:

MATRI, MARCHISIO, QUAGLARELA, AMAURI, IAQUINTA, PEPE, TREZEGUET, DEL PIERO, DI VAIO

I don't think JOVETIC is capable to organize a counter attack, he is more like a player who need someone like NEDVED, and I don't know if we can find a player like him, on this moment, I think it is better to keep VUCINIC there, and strengthen the wings + to hope that MARCHISIO will score some goals,

Jovetic has done quite well with far less talent around him than a player like Vucinic. His numbers are great when you think about who his teammates are at Fiorentina. Vucinic's numbers are not that great when you look at how great his teammates are at Juve. If you put Jovetic with one of the best professional midfields in the world and pair him with a great CF, he will be great. He is still young and is proven in Serie A and we should sign him while we can.

Can you imagine what Jovetic could do surrounded by players like Pirlo, Marchisio, Vidal, Licht, Asamoah, and Llorente/Higuain? Right now he is playing with players that aren't even close to that talent level. Vucinic has had his chance to break through at Juve and he hasn't done it. He may look brilliant at times, but he is far too inconsistent and will be 30 in October. I will gladly take Jovetic.

Also, I don't agree with your arguments about counter-attacks. Krasic, Diego, and Vucinic do not even deserve to be mentioned with Zidane and Nedved. Plus, Juve runs a different system right now than they did with Zidane and Nedved. Right now, our attack relies upon a regista, like Pirlo, not a trequarterista/CAM. Also, your characterization of Del Piero, Pepe, and Marchisio as poachers is not correct at all.

Basically, all I can say is that Jovetic and his team has done quite well with far less talent than Juve. You need to think about that and what Jovetic will be able to achieve with potential teammates at Juve.

They dont need a proven big game flop, thats exactly what they dont need. They will win the league for years to come, its the CL that can give them a challenge.

Juventude, I agree that jojo is a great player and vucinic is gettin old, so that somehow makes sense to replace him,

However we have a good chance to gamble on someone who dosnt cost us + 10 milliin and use the money to strengthen the wings instead of replacing vucinic with jojo that dont make statistical diffetence...

I'm not as in love with Vucinic as some people on this forum. He's ok. Everyone likes to talk about how talented he is, which I agree that he is very talented. However, he is inconsistent and doesn't appear to apply that talent consistently. For those reasons he is expendable and replaceable. In my opinion, Jovetic is just as good, if not better than Vucinic. He is young and hungry.

I disagree that improving the wings is most important. I've said all year we need a CF and SS this summer even with Llorente coming. Jovetic fulfills the SS position we need. Also, think about the great depth that the top UCL teams have at striker. We need more quality. Matri, Quags, and Anelka should all be gone by next season.

With the wings, I'd prefer a LWB and that's it. I don't think we need much more. We are covered on the right side with Licht, Isla, and Caceres. I'd much rather Juve spend money on strikers.

If you have the opportunity to land a world class striker at a young age and reasonable price, you take it. And, for me, this is Juve's opportunity to land the long-term future striker of the club.
