Re: UEFA U21 European Championships (Israel, June 5th - June 18th)
Would a lot of this young Dutch side actually start for the senior side? Like the defense, midfield and maybe a winger.

Says it all why they and Spain are the heavy favourites in my eyes.
Experience tells at this level.

I guess it is telling that the defense of the German U21 is the part with the least experience:

Wonderful match by Netherlands as throughout the whole match they comfortably looked as the better team. Strootman had one of his finest games for Oranje (U-21 or not) and thoroughly cemented belief that they deserved the win.
Germany was rather underwhelming as outside Hermann and especially Holtby, it was disjointed, repetitive and rather ugly to watch. One questionable call that should have gone their way though.
Congrats Netherlands.
And Espana Morata

Re: UEFA U21 European Championships (Israel, June 5th - June 18th)
i actually thought strootman was really poor, felt like he was constantly losing the ball in the middle and missing tackles. his job was to anchor the defense but it seemed like van ginkel was covering for strootman defensively all match, until about the end when there was a little more freedom in the middle.
stand outs for me were maher and holtby. john and wijnaldum played well but flitted in and out of the game imo.
hermann also played very well for the germans.

She always watches games of Alvaro.
Besides his delegate father, she is also the reason Morata is starting for Espana U-21 and playing for Real Madrid
Isco, Muniain, Illara and Thiago were excellent, but she was WOTM. Excellent performance by her.

Fully agree, can't deny her influence on the current set up

Excuse me for the intrusion my dear Arquitecto, as my curiosity has certainly bested me in this instance, but may ask, where by any chance inebriated during the course of that game?
Strootman was terrible. All my friends here in Amsterdam all said the same thing. He constantly gave the ball away, and allowe Germany to overload the midfield. He was extremely poor defensively and I am not sure how many games you have watched of him in PSV, buyt he requires a ball winner next to him to even fulfill half of his potential. MAher was far superior and Strootman looked extremely rusty. Perhaps all the transfer speculation concerning his future hindered him.

So, Cherisev destroying Montoya, huh? Did Russia have any other chance aside from that shot from 40 meters?

Re: UEFA U21 European Championships (Israel, June 5th - June 18th)
Denis didn't even play on the wing. he was playing as a CF
I thought russias u21 played similar to their senior team but boy are they average. I dont think anyone bar Denis will be promoted to the senior team
montoyas final third play is poor I noticed only had one decent play which was a cross to Morata
Alberto Moreno on the other hand

So, Bartra was going to be destroyed if Chersihev played as striker, no?

common free
Denis is a winger and solely a winger. what happens when a winger is played as a CF and has balls hoofed at him??

Clyne for Smith and Shelvey for Lowe and that would be more like what i'd expect

Zaha is playing abysmal again.
the awfulness of the championship has overrated him to obscene levels, not even on Welbeck's level.

Re: UEFA U21 European Championships (Israel, June 5th - June 18th)
I don't see any logic behind using Zaha as a striker. It's like Pearce is hoping that by playing him there, he'll do something special.
Wickham isn't all that great, but he's suited to a lone striking role and would be a good springboard for the quicker players around him.
And now we're 2-0 down.

I did call this the other day, can't remember if it was chat or on forum but Norway would beat us comfortable if the finishing improved.
You ain't going anywhere with jokers like Pearce lol.
