The Last Day: Siena v Milan
The possibilities:
Milan Win = Champions League
Milan Draw, Fiorentina win = Europa League*
Milan Draw, Fiorentina draw or lose = Champions League
Milan Lose, Fiorentina win = Europa League
Milan Lose, Fiorentina draw or lose = Champions League
*Fiorentina have a better head-to-head points tally against us this season (1 win, 1 draw from their perspective). Our goal difference is +27 and Fiorentina's goal difference +24, but that doesn't matter because head-to-head points is looked at first. Therefore, should we draw and Fiorentina win, Fio will move up to 3rd.
Fiorentina play Pescara.

Too bad Fiorentina have pretty much a guaranteed win. This Pescara side is the worst team I've ever seen in Serie A. Comical all the time.

Well Siena too are already relegated, so they won't be super-motivated or anything. But we must not relax and go into the game thinking we've already won it.

Pescara beat them at the Franchi last time, would it be far fetched to say they could beat them again in front of their own fans

Re: The Last Day: Siena v Milan
It's the most important game of our season , yet one of the most simple ones so far .
As much as i want to think about the technical aspects of the game , the only thing that comes to mind is that win shall win this game . I only saw one game of Siena this season , against Milan and they didn't quite impress me .
Not sure why this time will be different , with them relegated and with some of their important players missing the game. We need to score 1 goal and the game is over for Siena , just like with Pescara. Last time we played Siena , we were not in the best of situations and we still won them . Now with Balloteli and a much more stable performance , we shall win this simply. Montolivo is my only concern but judging from how we've played against Roma , we will fight even harder against a dead Siena this time.
They really have no chance.

Put it this way, WE HAVE TO WIN. Fiorentina has a guaranteed 3 points in Pescara, I dunno we are the damn favourites but this is football. Everyone has to go in and give his all.

This team of ours, doesn't give me the confidence to say that we will surely beat the relegated Siena team. This is a 30 million game, so we'd better not fack it up.

Re: The Last Day: Siena v Milan
Our squad for tomorrow has been released.
Abbiati, Amelia, Gabriel, Abate, Antonini, Bonera, De Sciglio, Mexes, Salamon, Yepes, Zaccardo, Zapata, Ambrosini, Constant, Flamini, Montolivo, Nocerino, Traoré, Balotelli, El Shaarawy, Niang, Pazzini and Robinho.
Disappointed that we have taken a third goalkeeper over Cristante, however the biggest news is the return of Montolivo and Prince's absence.
Whislt I by no means expect Siena to lie down for us, I am confident in our ability to grind out a result, they are a team we do well against - we have won at least our last six encounters against them from memory - and should we lead at half time, this should be a simple game to run out.
We shouldn't be worrying about Fiorentina, we're third and they're fourth for a reason. Our destiny is in our hands and no one else's. We'll be partying whilst Fiorentina can start deciding on which early stage of the Europa League they want to give up in.

You're right. Worrying about Fiorentina will only put more pressure on our players. Its a simple enough task. Siena being relegated makes it even easier. So I hope they don't screw up.

Allegri said Montolivo will start alongside 2 others
I'd go with Flamini----Ambro----Monty

Re: The Last Day: Siena v Milan
Oops, thanks for catching that Il Diavolo.
I would actually be tempted to play Nocerino ahead of Ambrosini in this match, with Montolivo resuming his role at the base of the formation. This is a match in which we can expect to have the initiative in midfield and whilst Ambrosini's presence allows us to set up with greater protection against the counter-attack, I dislike the thought of the shape of our midfield and right flank should we line up with Flamini---Ambrosini--- Montolivo. If Balotelli and Pazzini are used together in Boateng's absence, we may risk congesting the right side of the pitch that we so often look to penetrate by populating it with players poor on the ball. Should we persist with Flamini and Ambrosini however, the side must adjust to push Abate further up the flank at all times and use this midfield pair to provide defensive cover to attempt to open space and stretch Siena's three man backline that will be heavily protected by their midfield.
Whilst in poor form, Nocerino will look to make the sort of movement into the final third that we will require to overwhelm Siena's numbers at the back, as well as allowing Montolivo to play his preferred position.
The final two selections to make concern the use of either Constant or De Sciglio and Boateng's replacement on the right wing. As far as the former choice goes, I have consistently made my views clear on this matter, however in this case, De Sciglio's delivery from the left is particularly essential given Constant's decision making in possession and haphazard delivery into the box.
Our options on the right include shifting Balotelli to allow Pazzini to play through the centre or deploying either Robinho or Niang in Boateng's place. I have a personal preference for Robinho given our opposition, however I shall be satisfied by any decision in truth, I feel that our decisions in midfield and the intensity of the team will have far more bearing on the result than this selection choice.

Re: The Last Day: Siena v Milan
Nicely explained Dosto. And even though i personaly think a midfield of Flamini-Ambrosini-Montolivo will do it's general job in the end of the day , i must admit the details you mentioned are definitely correct .
It lacks the drive and movement to threaten sufficiently , but with patience and with focus , it shall do. As you well said , most important will be the will and the intensity that shall define the winning factor in this game. Let's hope everything goes well , it will be quite a pleasant ending to the most uncertain season we've seen in recent years.
Also , Money to score/assist a goal to solidify his contract extension

El Shaaarawy on the bench, with Niang taking his place... Interesting since Niang isn't in spectacular form himself

Niang is so shit...get this kid off the field put on Pazzini or El Sharrawy.
Doesn't deserve to wear the jersey. Given way too many chances to prove himself. Yet always comes up short. Wtf was that...it was on his right foot too!
Now were down 1-0.

Niang should come off at half time...and never start a game for milan again....but you think allegri will do that??
no cause he waits till 80th minute to make substitutions.

Niang sucks . End of it. He's not ready to begin games as of yet. The decision made by Allegri to bench Ses , is very confusing to comprehend , unless he's injured , i cannot see any reason why he did this.
