me too, i actually expect them to fall short on their objectives. their project is extremely superficial right now, would be surprised if they hit the ground running. they are mistaken if they think Falcao can score goals on his own and will carry them on his back

It will be like City when they first came to power. Finish 3rd or 4th. Next year they will probably get closer

I am hoping Lille strengthens up and Marseille as well. It will be an exciting race if that happens

The team is being very well built and the AS Monaco youth system is still one of the best in France because it is the one that pays the most to kids.

Their signings all make sense

CBs: Isimat-Mririn and Carvalho
CM: Moutinho
AM/Winger: Kames Rodriguez
CF: Falcao

They have Tzavellas and Raggi as experienced defenders on the squad and a couple of promising kids. Lost Mendy to Nice in the mid... but they Ocampos and Germain who are good from an offensive mid perspective. They are going address the DM situation very aggressively. On attack, they have Riviere to back up Falcao and they are looking to sign at least 1 winger.

Building the team very well.

What they did was attack the foreign market first and now they'll focus on buying French players. They still have €70 mil left in their summer transfer budfget (€200 mil budget).

They will hit the ground running and then some.

i am not saying that they will fail long term of course, but it's going to be very difficult for them to reach top 3. not impossible but very difficult and if they fail, it wont surprise me.

Their CBs? terrible. Carvalho is a joke, and will get destroyed just the same in L1 as he was in la liga. Isimat-Mirin is very young still, not a stud at all, and hardly a consistent performer. he will suffer under the spotlight and the expectations. their whole defense is not good as of now, but he market isnt open yet so we will see.

they have signed good players in key positions but they still need to build chemistry, support the scrutiny, the expectations, every team playing to beat them etc... people thought PSG would walk the league with their team, didnt happen. a season is very long

They changed almost everyone the first year Qatar took over. Sirigu, Lugano, Bisevac, Momo Sissoko, Pastore, Menez, Gameiro, etc. These were all starters too lol. The only holdovers in terms of starters were Sakho, Tiene, Jallet and Nene. Halfway through the season, Motta, Maxwell and Alex joined.

Honestly, this Monaco team shats all over that PSG team once the mercato is finished. Ranieri is better than Kombouare too lol.
