Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Well surprise surprise!!! Iago Aspa would be having his medical today according to reliable journos BBC & Echo. It comes as much as a shock as the fact that grasses are green & skies are blue
Echo & BBC both suggest Ilori & Alberto are being sort after & Papa still a big target & Alderweild would be considered if Papa deal doesn't go through.

If we get 60m of course I'd take it and run, in fact anything over 50m would do it for me. Otherwise, I'd like him to stay.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I just hope to get a quick resolution. I'm thinking only selling him would be that, as I've got little doubt by now that he would hand in a transfer request if there's an acceptable offer for him at any time in this window.
The longer this uncertainy drags on the harder it will be to plan for the future.

He's the club's main doctor. He leads the first team medical staff and performs the physicals for potential signings. He's the man on the left, just ahead of Iago Aspas in that picture.iftikhar wrote:Zaf Iqbal, who!!!

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Encouraging words from BR mentioning two more attacking players, i guess one would be Aspas the striker & another CAM i hope it would be Mkhitariyan. Also mentions giving loan spells to some of the young ones!

‘I’m looking to bring 20 more goals into the team,’ said Rodgers. ‘I’m looking at another offensive player to give us a real threat on goal and another attacking midfield player. We definitely need to do that, especially if we’re going to put some young ones out on loan to gain experience.
‘But it’s not easy when you can’t make mistakes. We want to keep the acceleration and pushing on, so this is a very important window for us in the summer. We have to do our best to make it right, because the players who need to come in have to be effective right from the off.’

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
The other attacker may be Luis Alberto of Sevilla, though he's been more of a forward than an attacking midfielder in the past season. Also, I'd argue we need a creative option more than a goal scorer in midfield.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
In the interview he also mentions . . .
There is Papa & Ilori. .
A better source for the BR interview with additional infos on Mkhitariyan being our target and it also claims that he will be a target despite Suarez's fate & most likely would be approached once AC is off.

Yep that's what i feel too . . But there have been some interest in the Henrik dude that's for sure & as the Guardian say depends on AC leaving. Which i feel is pretty realistic.
Now Alberto, Aspas & Ilori all come well within our allocated Transfer Budget from FSG of 20m pounds.
But for the Papa & Mkhitariyan deals there would be need of extra cash. I really feel the Papa deal depends on Skrtel's future.
Makes the books pretty even i guess smart business window if goes as planned.
Then again if our new Media Crazy Striker leaves there could be another Marque signing easily with no added pressure in funds.
Shelvey & Suso hopefully going on loan spells.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I'm going to go with the Echo's report, which states we will not make a move for Mkhitaryan unless Suarez leaves, personally. Henrikh seems the type of CAM who's creativity is shown in his ability to create goalscoring opportunities for himself, much like Suarez. Eriksen and Coutinho, by comparison, tend to show their creativity by creating chances for teammates. Players like Henrikh work best without another similarly focused player in the team, so I think that he's targeted as a potential replacement for Suarez in that capacity (not position, but general role). I don't think the decision comes down to needing money from a Suarez sale, but to the need for space for such a player to open up in the starting XI. I just don't see Mkhitaryan being signed to operate in the same XI as Suarez, personally. I don't think he'd fit particularly well into our side so long as Suarez remains (and even, potentially, if he leaves). That said, my views on Mkhitaryan are limited by the fact that my analysis is based off of this season's European and a couple of international matches as well as his main creative statistics (goals, assists, passing, etc).

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Aspas could potentially go straight into the starting XI replacing Downing (or Suarez if it so passes).
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is an Armenian CAM (who can also play as a SS/CF) who had a brilliant season for Shakhtar Donetsk this past season, scoring 25 goals in 29 league matches. We've been linked with him for a couple of weeks now and were linked with him back in January, I believe.

Couldn't agree more with your point on Henrik being a CAM who has an eye for goal rather than creating goals. But as much as that is true i also believe BR might look into players like that who would be selfish for goals a similarity of Sturridge which we all feared but came off as our advantage.
In his recent interviews BR talks about addition in the team of 20goals I can surely see that as Henrik & Aspas. Wherein Alberto can be the creative back-up in the midfield. I personally like the look of the front line with Henrik in the team.
Sturridge
Coutinho Aspas
Henrik
Gerrard Lucas
Even without Suarez doesn't look bad. But then again its my opinion against many.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Rodgers will simply look towards a replacement who can inject goals into the team, with the likes of Aston Villa's Christian Benteke and Real striker Karim Benzema on his list.
An article in Mirror regarding BR's interview with an extension of the above points by David Maddock. Well can't see either happening Benzema's salary would be too high & can't really see us going for Benteke.

Sorry RO. Didn't realize Henrikh is Makhitaryan. Thought some Nordic or German guy and got all excited.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
"This year for me has been beyond fantastic," Suso told Marca. "At Liverpool this season has been great and I'm very happy.
"Next year I'll probably stay at Liverpool. I know there are quite a few offers but I will not go. I'm happy at Liverpool."
Well finally some loyalty amidst all the Suarez interviews!!!!![](/users/3313/22/97/24/smiles/1499845164.gif)

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I always thought that Henrikh Mkhitaryan deal is dependent on carroll deal but after RO's explaination it seems that carroll deal will help us a to get good starting CB. just trying to get the logic between incoming-deals and outgoing-deals.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I'm not going to say too much, but one thing I've realized on here and on other LFC websites, is that people are overhyping Mkhitaryan way too much for his own good. From what I've read it seems like he's expected to be the second coming of Suarez or something. And £20m+ for him
Please. Make of it what you will though.
PS. I do rate the guy btw. I rate him just where he's supposed to be rated at.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Not addressed to anyone specific. I read through the last half dozen pages in this thread and the general feeling around Henrikh seemed to be a little too far on the over-hyping side. Felt it was my obligation to point out that 20m+ for a guy with one great season in a Ukrainian League was a little too steep and also how premature it is to be talking about him like he's the second coming of Souness.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
20M for Mkh is a great deal, as his wages won't be more than 40k/week. currently in Ukraine, he is on 10k/week.
He is such a dedicated guy to football that he sleeps at Shakhtar training ground, doesn't drink, doesn't have a girlfriend, he only cares and lives and breathes football.
and he raped Denmark last night.
He is a better player than Eriksen now, and will significantly improve our first XI, He is like Henderson in work rate, but with 3-4 times the goals and assists.
Bring him in after that shithouse Carrlol faks off.
