Did we loan Assaidi! I think we should have loaned Ibe too.
Assaidi went to Stoke, yes. If a winger arrives before the window shuts then it would've been good to loan out Ibe.

Wisdom must go on loan. With this new influx of CBs he wont be getting any game time here

Wisdom's chances at seeing game time rely almost entirely upon Kelly's fitness. And given the lad's unfortunate track record in that area, it seems entirely possible and perhaps likely that Wisdom would see a fair number of minutes (in cups at least) even if he stays.

Didn't realise he was 20, thought he was 18/19. Hope he can make an impact.

Oh wow, that's what I thought, too. That's how I've been reading the occasional praises for him on here in reserve games, that he's been beasting there. It wasn't long ago that we signed him, no? I definitely thought he was under 20. Feels like he either has to break into the first team by next season or never now.

I think he got a back injury when he first joined which stalled his progress a lot. As you say he needs to kick on over the next 12 months.

I don't like the loan move at all. He's WAAAAY too good for League One. A Championship side I would've been ok.

Brentford is in League One (third division). Considering his age and how highly he has been rated, I would have thought he will attract clubs atleast from Championship.

Don't think the level of L1 will do much about his progress.

Borini came off the bench for Sunderland against Arsenal. He had one shot that got deflected for a corner. It was tough debut though

Jack Robinson been sent off for Blackpool with a 2nd yellow today. General consensus among the Blackpool fans is that he's so far been their best player this season.

Suso played the full 90. Almeria lost 4-2 to Atletico Madrid.

Teixeira made his debut in Brentford's 4-3 win over Tranmere. He came on off the bench really late in the game. Also a Liverpool fan on Twitter said that Ilori was at the game as well to watch his former teammate.

Fabio Borini has been told he might have been better snubbing Liverpool and staying at Roma.

Borini, 22, has flopped at Anfield following his £10.5million switch in July 2012 and has been sent out on loan to Sunderland for the season.

The striker's agent Marco De Marchi claims it might have been better for his career to remain at Roma.

"I think Fabio would have been the ideal player for Zdenek Zeman last year at Roma," De Marchi told Radio Mana Mana.

"But the decision was made to leave Roma. Of course, it all happened very quickly and there was no chance to talk with the new coach.

"But having said that, I still think Roma would have been the right team for Fabio."

In hindsight, yeah, I, too, would prefer to have £10m instead of Borini. But his agent to say this is rather ridiculous, I'm sure he did good business there for himself and I don't think too many Roma fans are missing him either for that kind of money. So these are rather stupid comments by his agent.

Well, we know Eredivisie: goals abound. Glad that he's off to a great start, but not getting too excited about he actually making the cut at LFC in the future.

Loan watch:

Ngoo: 2(5) appearances, 240 mins gametime overall. Loan was terminated.

Suso: 8 appearances, 8 starts, Small part of the story: 1 goal and 4 assists in the La liga.

Mukendi: 0(1): One league cup sub appearance since then AWOL.

Coady: 9(2) : 11 appearances, Going strong for the league one strugglers.

Adorjan: 4(1) : 5 appearances in all competitions, 2 goals and 1 assist. Missed two games due to suspension. Loan move going well for him.

Pepe Reina- Meh.

Texeira: 0(2): Two sub appearances and then the loan move was terminated.

Borini: 1(3): Loan move going horrible for him

Assaidi: 1(3): Settling into the Stoke squad now, Has one assist to his name in the league cup and also played 90 mins in the 0-0 draw for Stoke against WBA this week.

Jack Robinson: 10(1): He is a regular starter for Blackpool notching up 11 appearances with 2 assists. Good news is that Blackpool are within the play off spots and doing very well in the Championship.

Thanks for the update, Nishy.

Only Suso's loan is a really positive one. Why didn't we loan out Ibe if he doesn't even make our bench? Neutral

It does look like we've rather botched the loan system in the last window. Barring Suso, Robinson, and Adorjan, it's hard to see these loans being truly positive. (Coady's could be considered successful, as well. However, it's at a League 1 club... League 1, people...)

I'm certainly not saying that we shouldn't loan out players. What we should do is be more careful in where we allow players to go. There's no point in loaning out players when they aren't going to get game time while they're out. As it is, Ngoo, Texeira, Ngoo, and Borini have all had their development impeded more than assisted.

I'm quietly hopeful that Borini will get a look under Poyet, as I think he's a more progressive manager (in terms of style, if not quality). Even so, Sunderland was a strange choice, as striker is far from their worst position.

With our track record in the summer, I'm rather glad we didn't send Ibe anywhere last summer. The other thing to consider is that he is only 17, and could probably still use another season in the U21s before going for first team football. As some of our squad returns to fitness, he'll likely drop out of the match day squad and get more dedicated time with the U21 squad. Maybe a loan in Jan or next year for him.

Wisdom needs to get a half-season loan in January in order to keep progressing. Hoepfully Wigan are still interested by then, as I think that move could seriously benefit him. However, we need to ensure that he will be played as a CB, or else the loan move will be wasted just like Assaidi, Borini, etc.

Borini helps sunderland beat Newcastle 2-1 with a goal after being subbed on, great news for the lad, even better that it was Sunderlands first win against their rivals.
