The official loan thread.
Wilson reported to go back to Rangers.
Have to say, would of rather had him in the EPL. Sure it's CL experience, but Ranger's aren't going to last long...

Glad to see any academy player raping some league tbh. I have high hopes for Silva from what ive seen, He looks like a good dribbler.

Would you guys want any of Aquilani, Cole, or Pacheco back at Liverpool?

Cole, He is doing a great job playing decently wide their, He could a better job than most of the wingers we have at LFC.
I actually wanted Cole to stay more than Aqua.

None. Let them all go in the summer, clear their wages and hopefully get a bit of extra funds for incoming transfers.

Re: The official loan thread.
I wonder what is the situation with Aquilani, is he going to meet that number of appearances clause that apparently exists in his loan-contract, you know, if he meets it Milan have to buy him? I don't think he's been playing much lately, or?
Anyway, I'd prefer neither of AA or J. Cole back, it'd be too painful if they still failed to deliver for Liverpool and, like Red-O said, their wages would be a burden.

Re: The official loan thread.
I agree with Red and Art. I want neither back. I don't particularly dislike either of them, but they don't seem to be able to produce for Liverpool. I am pleased with Joe Cole's form, if only because it means more potential interest/funds from his potential sale.
Aquilani's situation is more complicated. For one, he's gotten injured, which only perpetuates his reputation for being injury prone. There is also the matter of his 25 appearance threshold. Apparently, if he makes 25 appearances, there is some sort of agreement for Milan to purchase him. His current tally is 20. Even though he hasn't played since December 20th, with another round of Champions League football likely and a continued run in the Coppa Italia, he looks likely to reach the 25 appearance mark. Hopefully he can regain fitness long enough to reach that mark and make his stay at Milan a permanent one.
Pacheco is a name you don't hear too much anymore. He was loaned to Athletico Madrid and subsequently loaned to Rayo Vallecano... If that doesn't say enough, the fact that he's only made eight appearances as a sub... He also not the "young prodigy" anymore. He's 21 and making sub appearances for a mid-table La Liga side. Doesn't look to be of the caliber we need atm.

Re: The official loan thread.
I think we have seen the last of all three, unless we hold-on for some absurd amount of fee. I liked all three so it's really painful that none could fit-in. However, we need to invest in the squad and what ever amount (€15 mil!!!) is recouped will be good.

Yeah, this is a bit sad. It seems like only yesterday when many fans thought Pacheco could be a first-team regular and people were excited about him. Now he is... well, as good as gone, I guess.

I guess making around 18-20mill for the three of them should be nice piece of business.

That would be fantastic business, IMO. I wouldn't expect to get much more than 10m for the three combined.Messiakanino wrote:I guess making around 18-20mill for the three of them should be nice piece of business.

Re: The official loan thread.
Both Aquilani and Cole are still good players and Pacheco is hopefully the same talented kid with potential he once was. Personally I view them as something like this. Aquilani 8+ million, Cole 5+ million, and Pacheco 3+million.
But i have to agree with all of you that their careers are as good as over with us.

Re: The official loan thread.
Depending on Cole's continued performances and the details of Aquilani's potential move to AC Milan, 15 million is possible. I would be very happy with that amount. Anywhere between 10-12 for the lot would be quite satisfactory. As long as we put the funds to good use, I won't complain about the sum, though.

Re: The official loan thread.
Shelvey loaned to Middlesbrough.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7544712/Boro-agree-Shelvey-deal
Interesting that it only takes effect after the League Cup final. I still think his recall from Blackpool was a knee-jerk reaction to Lucas's injury on the part of the club. Perhaps they were unsure how well Gerrard would recover or how well Spearing could cover for him, but it put a halt on his progress.
I'm really glad he's going to be getting another chance at regular first-team football.

Why loan Reina out...?I didn't see Liverpool linked with a new keeper.

We bought Mignolet from Sunderland for 9million and Reina had told the board he wanted to leave us soon not immediately ( Last year ), So this was the best time.

Good luck to Robbo, hopefully makes it with us, he showed great promise. Would hate it if he turned into another Pacheco. The loan should do him good.
Also glad for Adorjan
