Bayern press and defend as a true unit, Martinez being really clever, and they just crowd the middle so intensely, u can see why Juve and Pirlo got owned. Schwine is actually man marking Xavi, Iniesta crowded out, Messi pushed so deep.... and even our outlet Alves is being tracked by Ribery + Alaba which is very difficult....

Bartra is worrying me, I know it's his first real big game, but hes struggling clearly... yellow carded too, I just hope he hangs on.

I dont see any changes possible...apart from maybe Tello/Villa for Sanchez to help stretch Bayern. Otherwise we need magic from someone or have Bayern to get tired b4 we can create some openings.... but we usually do our best when we are behind, hopefully we can make something, we need an away goal!

On the other hand I fear Bayern's attack....

Double marked by midfielders if he drops deep, double marked by 1 defender and 1 midfielder further to the goal. They are doing a really good job. If they can keep this is up Messi will search for a assist, rather then a goal. Bayern are playing really compact, including their attackers in the defending(pressing at half line). We on the other hand keep our 4 back at our own half, and playing this wide doesnt really create alot of chances. Bayern is just really defending greatly.

We are also really missing Villa. If Barca win the ball at the half line, you dont see any runs to the front. This is something Villa does, pulling defenders away and giving space to Iniesta and Messi. We really need Villa for this.

And maybe we are playing the AC Milan scenario. Hoping for the 1.1 and then finish it off at home (with villa)

Tello would be a waste of time given the way Bayern wingers and midfielders are tracking back. What Barca needs is for Messi to stop dropping too deep into midfield, but for them to do that they would need Villa in the game.

the only players making runs into forward areas are the fullbacks . i agree villa has to come on, but for who ? pedro or sanchez ? and if u sacrifice one of the wide players for villa you open yourself up to the forward runs by bayerns fullbacks . ultimately this game will show us how good xavi and iniesta are as they are the ones who can create space in the middle for messi and to create chances .

this is what I call a humiliation. At least now the Barca management will be forced to make wholesale changes in defense and attack. Pedro, Villa and Sanchez need to go. Puyol and Abidal should retire.
