Off form on form it doesn't matter, Xavi is better than Bastian.

Games are played on the pitch and form doesn't win games effort and talent does. Having said that the name on the back of your jersey doesn't win you the game either and your only ever as good as your last game.

In that case Quagliarella is the 8th best striker in the world. Nice logic there

And Bastian was just the focal.point for a Bayern team that won the Bundesliga in record time, has gotten to 2 CL finals in the last 3 years, and has gotten to the semis of the WC and Euros. Xavi obviously has much more silverware, but its not as if im saying some scrub is better than Xavi. And im talking about THIS SEASON, in which Bastian has been.better than Xavi. Xavi has had the better career, but thats all past silverware counts for.

Ofc, I was only kidding with the jiopsi stats. Rolling Eyes

However Villa has actually been good (e.g crucial goal vs AC Milan and assist to Pedro vs PSG) this season when he has played. He thrives in big matches.

I dont really know about Bastian's stats this season, but I watched him vs Arsenal, Juve and a couple of BL games recently. I dont think he been better than Xavi, especially in the 1st half of the season when Xavi was fit.

Xavi has been struggling with injuries in 2013 and has only been playing the big games, France, Madrid, Milan, PSG....

At the end of the day, it all comes to how many games you have watched from the 2 teams. I have watched every Barca game so far and only about 5-6 Bayern full matches so my judgement isn't exactly accurate.

Whats new tbh.

For how many years has someone been better than Xavi?

Pirlo, Cesc, Alonso, now Bastian..its all the same to me, someone is always better apperently.

He has outplayed them all and even in advancing years, hes capable of it again.

Bastian's form is very nice, whatever, none of those games were against Xavi. He has his chance soon enough to face the old man, lets see what he is really capable of.

The confidence that Bayern have, you would think that they have retained th champions league already and are defending champion. This is a team full of qualified chokers on every levle, and even if they beat Messilona, I fully expect them to lose the final tbh

And none of Xavis games were against Bastian. It goes both ways. Xavi was the best midfielder in the world for sure from late '08 to late '10. But last year Pirlo was better than him and this year Bastian is. Again, youre acting like im saying some scrub is better than Xavi. Bastian has consistently been Top 3 (with Pirlo and Xavi) since he became a CM. This year though, Bastian is #1. Ive admittedly not seen THAT much of Barca, but ive seen almost every game of Bayern and enough of Barca to judge (all the classicos and most of their CL games).

True, but I aint talking about form, you are. Form means nothing to me.

Xavi is going on what he is proven himself capable of, his dominant performances on the biggest stage is in double figures, heck its probably in the 20's.

You say Pirlo was better, you say Bastian is...your opinion, not fact as said, everyone been better apperently, hold in to if you like, it wont help anyone at gametime.

As I said, Bastian will get his chance to tangle with the best, or what many think used to be the best...so lets see.

Pizarro 2 assists, 2 goals,
Gomez 2 goals (excellently taken btw);
too bad Mandzukic is suspended.

Yea, i think Bayern would be better with Kroos cuz that effectively makes Bayerns 4-2-3-1 into a 4-3-3, so they wouldnt be outnumbered in midfield. Still think that Bayern are gonna go through here for sure.

Robben, Muller, Ribery and Gomez/Pizarro is still a strong attack. However obviously Kroos in midfield would have made a difference for Bayern. Whenever I see Muller, he doesn't really offer much, however still gets the job done.

Anyway did Bayern appeal for Mandzukic's yellow card?
