Mata+Hazard Vs Götze+Reus

Quite frankly, no team deserves Gotze. No team. He's like a collector's item you don't even unwrap.

He should be rested permanently.

Don't know in the future, but for now Mata is the best among the four. Not as much as dribbler as the other 3, but Mata's passing and vision edges him out, and he's also just as much as goal threat as the other 3 if not better, except maybe Reus. I'll have a pair of Mata with anyone among the other 3.

Seen a lot of the four, in terms of current ability its Mata > Hazard > Rues > Goetze. Mata and Hazard have been the brightest spots in a relatively poor season for Chelsea.

Hazard though in my opinion is going to be the best player in the world in 3 or so years time, his potential is unmatched by any of the other three. When Zidane says you're good, you must be very good, his abilities to ride challenges, quick turn of pace, passing, dribbling and shooting makes him a top, top player.

Hazard isn't on Gotze's level

for now, hazard isn't on reus level as well, with all the potential blabla aside. apart from that, quotes of former greats shouldn't always be used standard since someone legendary can always be found praising young talent. beckenbauer und sammer said götze is the talent of a century, but that doesn't make him any better.

In terms of current ability its Mata > Hazard > Reus > Gotze? Wow. Couldnt be more wrong. Flip that around and it would be correct in fact. Gotze is without question the best of these 4. Then the other 3 are close, but overall i say:

Gotze >> Reus > Hazard > Mata.

IMO. Mata is a bit overrated, I like him as a player, but he's not that good.

Really? I actually thought Mata was the closes to Götze of the other three, though I see Hazard and Reus as being more direct than Götze and Mata anyway, so not sure if they're a good comparison.

Rating them both as a duo really is the best way to compare them, and Reus and Götze just win that one, mightily even.

Add another to the Gotze & Reus tally.

I must be really practising differentology because I honestly don't see how Reus is so up and beyond Mata AND Hazard.

He isn't. But he isn't any worse either. And Götze is better than the lot.

Its clear some people in this thread don't watch Mata very much

He's carried Chelsea practically all season while Hazard has been ghosting.

Gotze and Reus are better right now but that is because both have performed to a WC level all season while Mata is carrying Hazard on his back.

Mata is probably the best of all 4 right now.

I think that's the problem, either people don't like Chelsea, don't watch them or allergic to apples because Mata is as good as Reus [can't believe I had to write that] and while Hazard isn't playing nor is at a level Gotze is at, he certainly isn't far beneath him where it looks like its comparing Joey Barton to Redondo.

Mata is really underated in these forum.

Goalscoring abilities ? Mata has 18g in 50m(0.36), Gotze has 14g in 36m(0.38)considering that Gotze has 2 prolific goalscorers alongside him, unlike Mata.

I think Mata and Gotze are very close. Both are exceptional players.

So it really comes down to Hazard v Reus and I really like Reus so that's why I picked zee German pair.

Agreed as for Hazard and Reus both are exceptional talents but right now Reus is the one performing and consistently so its understandable why you went that way.

i came across this topic and i had to reply, clearly there is either a bias against, some kind of hate towards chelsea or people don't actually watch eden hazard and mata. ill come up with stats just for the sake of the argument. first of all this is the truth, mata is above all the others mentioned, he is on his own level right now. no one can touch him in his position.

now here are stats for the season,

hazard- 12 goals, 17 assists, 22 (if you count penalties won)
mata 18 goals, 28 assists


vs
gotze 14 goals 9 assists
reus 15 goals, 8 assists

now you can say you prefer gotze and reus but they are def not better, maybe they're on the same level but not better, statistically, hazard and mata are far better. perhaps gotze and reus are better at goal scoring, but assisting, play making, controlling the game, etc, it has to go to hazard and mata. but i'll say that they are on the same level and all have strengths of their own.

lastly, seriously watch them actually play before coming to these conclusions, seriously.

still the Mata - Reus combo sum to more goals than the Goetze - Hazard. That's all I'm saying. and that's the case really

I have no doubts that Gotze will improve his goalscoring stats, right now he may be the worst. Messi at 20 wasn't the goalscorer he is now.

sure... I'm not talking about potential...just the "as-is" situation.
For me right now Mata is the more mature player

Goals aren't telling us anything though, at Dortmund, everyone scores every once in a while. At Chelsea, Mata gets to be the focal point of everything.

BTW Mata is brilliant, I just don't see how any of those players are far apart. And I still think Götze is the best out of the four. But, again, not by much.

Yesterday was only reinforcing my point. Götze and Reus both played brilliantly.

Dont care what you think of me. Fact is, Gotze is a level above Mata, and the.gap is only going to get bigger with time. Theres a reason Mata is what, 5th string for Spain?
