B.NEWS: Marotta confirms Ibra talks

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has confirmed they “talked” to PSG about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but his wages are a stumbling block.

The newspapers in Italy have been filled with reports of Bianconeri interest in the Swede, who had started his Serie A career in Turin before walking away post-Calciopoli in 2006.

“It is certain that Pavel Nedved and Leonardo talked about Ibra,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia before today’s game with Bologna.

“Ibra is a great player, but not the type we are looking for in terms of age and economic parameters.

“Without doubt he is a champion, but at this moment Italian clubs cannot sign players who earn such high wages. We appreciate him a great deal, who wouldn’t like a player like him? However, it is not possible.”

Marotta commented on the Scudetto race and Juve’s Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

“The Scudetto has to be taken one step at a time, like a cycling tour, and it’s no good winning the penultimate stage if someone else goes on the podium.

“We are concentrating on Serie A without ignoring the Champions League, as we want to go all the way in both competitions.”

seriously if marotta can never sign a top name striker because "their to expensive" then we should fire him what the hell does he expect? haha the top strikers of the world to come for free? trade players, lower the price ad on bonuses do what ever it takes to get that top player in turin marotta!

actually i believe he should stay.

cuz he doesn't make decisions based of what he likes or wants..but on what is healthy for the clubs finances and future.
ibra is definitely not healthy for Juve from all points of view...logical points of view.

But Marottalad, the team is performing fine without a top striker. Perhaps Marotta is being smart (as he usually is) and is waiting till the end of the CL season to evaluate where we stand in the attack.

And why are you forgetting Llorente. Top class, not world class, but still great. FREE ffs
