That's what I'd love to see, too. <3nichabr wrote:I predict penalties as the two best goal keepers are on the field it is only natural that i expect two 0-0 games...

And Bayern ?
Kroos was scared to take pens against Chelsea after he missed his against Madrid. We know Robben's record when it comes to PK's etc.To be honest there are a lot of chokers in the team specifically when it comes to spot kicks.
Gomez, Manzukic, Ribery, Mueller and Lahm can all take penalties whereas i can't say the same from anyone else on Juve other than Pirlo.....
Also the reason i am saying this is because Juve players haven't had much chance in this area to show that they are capable of it, it is by no means me saying they have no chance on penalties but more me stating that if i had to put money on the line i would go for Bayern over Juve on penalties any day of the week.

Funny you say this when Pirlo has missed more penalties for Juve than he's scored. and by quite a bit too, towards the end of the season last year he had a long string of penalty misses to the point where Conte had to make Vidal the first choice spot kicker and he still is the first to walk up to the spot.
My prediction for these 2 matches would be for a stalemate during the first ending in a close draw and for Bayern to pile on the pressure in the 2nd game and eventually crack at the back and let Juve through on the counter to pick up the win. Maybe it's more what i'm hoping for then what i think will happen but hey, gotta put it out there!

Vidal , Marchisio, Barzagli , Vucinic are all excellent pk takers but I get the point

BTW if we win the next 2 games we would be crowned champions right before the match in Turin

Re: Bayern Munich vs Juventus
so far as Peluso is benched, I will be quite confident about this tie, he is such an risky tackler for my liking, good defensively than Asamoah yh, but overall Asamoah is the better player [just needs to find his pre-AfCon form], we cannot risk a red card against Munchen.......
should be tough but Bayern remain favorites... even if the first leg ends goalless Bayern can spring a surprise in Turin notwithstanding the first leg results...

Elm, nice use of the term "notwithstanding". I might consider playing Peluso in the away leg, as we might need better defending on the flanks. It remains to be seen what Kind of form Asamoah can regain, but he would obviously be the preferred choice.
Cant wait for this. Havent been excited like this for the CL in years.

It is annoying me how good Barzagli has been this season, mr God damn perfect. Will be interesting to see if someone can put him on his knees for once.
Chiellini has to watch out with his hair and shirt pulling lol, think he wanted Cavanis hair and shirt before the game was over.

Been great Elm. Have yout made it out of Lothlorien yet? I know you were there for a while.
@Eivindo: Barzagli has beena true revelation. I was actually flabberghasted that we purchased him to be honest. Ill try and dig up some of my old posts damning the purchase. How wrong was I? Damn guy is a brick wall. Reminds me very much of Ferara in his prime. Slow, good in the air, tactically aware, and seams to always be in the right spot.

Re: Bayern Munich vs Juventus
Two very similar teams. Hard workinng, direct no tiki taka. Both have top players. Great for neutrals. But, it seems almost a conspiracy that they gave Madrid and Barca teams without any real CL success to play against. I mean, Juventus or Bayern would have had few problems against Galatasaray, Malaga or PSG, so they eliminate one of the the Spanish team's worst opponents.

Re: Bayern Munich vs Juventus
I think this is like an litmus test for both teams level's, a good one.
It will show how well Bayern can break down a supposedly sturn defensive unit, one which clearly will be something Bayern are yet to face.
For Juve, its like a test of their ability to deal with an "occassion". A huge night against a team they might not be better than, time for certain players to show up and the team to play with confidence.

Agreed. I personally love games like these because they tend to be the ones that reveal whether certain perceptions about a team are correct or not.

Re: Bayern Munich vs Juventus
Not only dealing with the occasion of playing another European giant but also of returning to football at the highest level.
You could argue Juventus have nothing to lose here, as a loss still helps navigate the road to success, because we are a team on the up.
Litmus test... feels like 8th grade chemistry.

Bayern just conceded 2 goals from 2 corners. I think Juve fans will sleep well tonight.

Re: Bayern Munich vs Juventus
This match has absolutely no influence on the Juve match , so Juve should not be afraid or sleep well tonight, because on Tuesday it's a completely different story
