This is not racing.
Red Bull put Vettel on medium tires and Webber on hards,so Vettel was obviously gonna have advantage.Webber should have been pitted first, but instead Vettel was and the difference was 4 seconds before pitting. That evaporated and Webber came out side by side with Vettel. They they assured him that Vettel wasn't gonna race and he turned the engine down...Still great fun it was

yeah... vettel f.. k up big ...
mark was in total control.. in fact he was putting up healthy gap of good 5 sec.. having watched live timing and he was asked to turn the engin rev. down, and they were in tire preservation strategy ...
then comes vettel and says in radio mark is too slow... as far as i am concerned wtf is rocky doing.. (vettel race engineer) he should have informed vettel.
seriously that should have been mark victory .. he would have been alongside vettel in driver's championship and vettel f..kin deprived mark of his victory.
i really hate when drivers like mark work his ass off and gets his limelight stolen..
as for cristian horner... biggest hypocrite ever... mark is right... vettel is always protected... he just says ... that isnt right... thats just a comment.. he should be putting a statement.. what u did is wrong!
i really hated what ross brawn did but ross put a real authority there as a team boss... demanding not to overtake and nico obeyed...
then in post race nico commented that he was mercedes employee he did what he was told to do... and thats absolutely great sportsmanship... truly magnanimous in which lewis paid tribute to nico.
thought vettel was so wrong.. if i was mark ... i would have shoved him...
i know mark had times when he had shot on championship he didnt win (2010) but 2011 was times when mark was just really underfavoured and consistently blasted by big mouth helmut marko..
seriously ... red bull has a big problem... i wouldnt be surprised mark wouldnt be signed up for 2013...

its racing but unfortunately they have team orders protocol..
its not as if mark doesnt want to race and is too slow.. he had orders to turn of engine and go in tire saving mode as red bull since testing is having tire issues, they even went to blast pirelli demanding to revert 2012 tires...
during the pre-race every team.. that goes to red bull they have agreement with team mates what to do what not to do.. that agreement ... is like a protocol..
vettel chose to ignore it means he is not following boss orders..
i dont buy that .. he is a racer 3 times world champion he is faster than mark thing... or i have been hearing that all time famous senna comment about race driver
its not if mark didnt want to race or was slow... 5 second of healthy gap over vettel .. when vettel was hounded by 2 mercs... mark was bossing that race for sure... and i am not even big fan of mark.. but really mark was totally f..ked by vettel.
there is a big trust issue there now that mark will always feel apprehensive... now more than ever...

Re: F1 2013 Season
Well, I watched the start, then the football match Basel - Servette and when the match was through I could watch the end of the F1 race. With all the pitstops nowadays there is no need to watch it all - start and finish suffices ^^

Re: F1 2013 Season
haha, but the pit stop strategy was what won it for ferrari. for once they had the right idea and red bull didn't.

Re: F1 2013 Season
Well, the problem is that nowadays there are only two times when they actually race: right at the start and at the end when they can try to get the last out of their tyres. In between it is just "how fast can I drive slowly to preserve the tyres?" and that is not really worth watching for me.

Re: F1 2013 Season
Yeah, how strange is it that - they have to be told to slow down to save tyres. I agree, the first 10 and last 10 laps are by far the most interesting.

Re: F1 2013 Season
The tyre issue is a bad one right now, but imo they shouldn't make any drastic changes to it during the season. That would be unfair on those teams who have designed their car to be easy on the tyres, i.e. have done their preparation for the season better.

Re: F1 2013 Season
Well, the only good thing is that Kimi Räikkönen is pretty good at dealing with these tyres as I love seeing him on the podium (his interviews are always absolutely brilliant XD).

Re: F1 2013 Season
Congrats to Nico for winning Monaco!
But a rather boring race overall, if it wasn't for the crashes there would've been nothing. Drivers not driving as fast as they could (Vettel's fastest lap on the penultimate lap was something like two seconds faster than the next fastest lap?), just managing them tyres.

It was rather dull, A real shame really, you can tell they are not giving 100%.

Four different tire failures made last nights race really enjoyable! It was rather crazy though!

Re: F1 2013 Season
I can't see anything as enjoyable that possibly endangers drivers and spectators, I have to admit. I mean, Kimi almost got the rubber of Vergne (I think) right into his face at full speed! And if a tyre would have blown up in a worse spot, a car might have taken off and been catapulted into either race marshals or audience.
Good job by Nico nonetheless. I wonder if Mercedes won't regret the team order from Malaysia by the end of the season.

Re: F1 2013 Season
I didn't mean it like that. I meant it made the race much more unpredictable and much more enjoyable because all of the drivers were all over the place.
The tire popping was downright dangerous and should be adressed.

Re: F1 2013 Season
Well, if Pirelli can change the rubber to something that causes a slow puncture when manhandled by cutting through the kerbs, no problem, then the cars would still be steerable and there wouldn't be debris flying around. But these blow-outs were outright life-threatening.

Re: F1 2013 Season
Yeah, Vergne's was horrible. Lewis' was almost as bad but Vettel was far enough away.
It's something they'll need to work on ASAP. I don't believe it was solely the kerbs fault though.

Re: F1 2013 Season
Well, from what I understood, the cutting through the kerbs caused some cuts in the rubber (the technicians found cuts in the changed tyres of Seb and Nico, too), and the side-walls of the Pirellis were too fragile and gave in spectacularly.
