Re: Castilla Thread
I'm a little confused. I had looked up squad list last week and it had 6 of our guys. Now offical list has come out and we have 4 (and Barca as well). Now I hear there also is a world championship U20 teamplaying in Columbia this summer. I had read today that Canales is on that team but can't find a squad list anywhere. Fifa says key players are Canales, Thiago and Munian (they were just on U21 team).

- That list for U-19 includes all players that played for Spain U-19 including friendlies & Qualification Rounds..
- The above 23 players, are the player who can play in Euro U-19 ( Final Round), Just 18 from these 23 players will make the final list, announced later before the tournaments (which starts in 20 July)..
- Spain U-20 which will play in WC U-20 will be a completely different list of players..
The official list is not announced yet..
but Players like Muniain, Isco, Canales, Pacheco, Keko etc are expected to make the final list & play in WC U-20... inaddition to some Barca "B" players like Bartra,Montoya,Sergi Roberto,Romeu etc..
Note: Thiago might not play, he was adviced to rest..

Why don't we just steal youths from other clubs that are more talented and have more potential than ours?

Re: Castilla Thread
So yeah Rodrigo scored a brace for Spain's U-20 in Colombia. He must be a Barca product.
(Hint: He isn't)
Canales didn't play due to injury.

Re: Castilla Thread
I'm reposting this here since I courious if any of the Castilla follwers have an opinion on this.
Another point noting from Spain's last night's game in U20 WC, was the play of Pacheco in goal. He was good, much better than Aitor in 1st game.
We have had Pacheco up with the 1st team more often than either Mejias and Jesus. The latter two are with Castilla, while Pacheco is the starter on Castilla C. Part of it must be his younger age, but I wonder if he might be the better of the 3.
Do any of you Castiila followers have an opinion?

Re: Castilla Thread
I read from somewhere, i cant remember, that Pacheco is more talented than all that bunch. He is quite young as well, and to see him as GK of the u20 speaks of how much talent he has.

Re: Castilla Thread
Pacheco has more hype. Also the fact that he was called up to the world cup despite the rest being of a similar age should give you a hint that he's rated higher.

Re: Castilla Thread
Jesus is clearly better than meijjas.
Meijjas is inconsistent but he can make some wonder saves.
Jesus is rock solid and very reliable .

Re: Castilla Thread
I read yesterday on Marca that Fran Rico will apparently be sold to Granada for 1 million since he's 24 (too old for Castilla), I think there will be a buy-back clause somewhere in it. Wish him all the best if indeed this goes through.

Re: Castilla Thread
Yeah, He signed for them today i think. Injuries always slowed his career, but im glad for him, he is a good playmaker. A shot at Grenada will help him fulfill his dream as professional. If he gets noticed, he has a shot at avoiding going down with them again

Re: Castilla Thread
Apparently it has gone through as you said, according to Realmadrid's website:
"Real Madrid CF and Granada CF have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of the Real Madrid Castilla player, Fran Rico, to the latter club."
Cannot post a direct link for some reason so you have to c/p:

Re: Castilla Thread
: A seven year-old Argentinean boy, whose father works as a soccer player trainer, signed up for the Spanish soccer team Real Madrid, according to China's Xinhua news agency, citing local press reports.
Miguel Coira, father of Leonel Angel, on Friday told a local radio station, that his son has signed a contract with the prestigious Spanish team.
This makes the boy the youngest booking in the history of Real Madrid.
"He is very good. What is best is that he has fun while he plays, which is the most important thing. He plays with elder boys and he makes the difference," Coira said.
The father said the boy's idol is Lionel Messi, the star from Barcelona team, the classical rival of Real Madrid and that he "doesn't miss any game".
The boy was born on March 29, 2004 and will begin training in Real Madrid on September 6th.
Coira said another son who is 16 years-old plays in Valladolid team

Re: Castilla Thread
Caravajal is Castilla's best defender (Better than Nacho IMO)
He's a RB though but does play CB for Spain sometimes.
There is also Derik in the Juvenil A Squad. He is quite good.

Re: Castilla Thread
His idol is Messi?
Dont worry son, the good Cantera will get that out of your head. All you have to do is pick from a list of Ronaldo, Raul, Zidane, Cristiano, etc. Hell, maybe even Di Stefano. Hes Argentinian!
Anyway, is this guy any good?

Re: Castilla Thread
I just read Juanfran may be sold to espanyol with a buy-back clause, I'm not familiar with their transfers but he could be callejon's replacement. If indeed this turns out to be true in the next few days it would be great for him. Hope we buy him back just like callejon.
If you would like to read more about our castilla for next season read this article:

It's a great read. I really hope they get promoted next season, they really deserve it.
