Re: Pellegrini to Man City - Official
cant remember who talked about it originally but it's a generally known opinion in madrid i think. It stems from the time he was a youth coach in madrid, made many problems with people still at the club, one of which was Valdnao (who left obv). From what i understand, he is not that liked, otherwise im pretty sure he would have coached madrid by now, being spanish, madridistas, and a CL winning coach.

Because City would pay him 2-3x more and City has more talent...

And he will get to spend 150m per summer. Think City will go all out for him and then one of the promising managers from Monaco/Porto/Leverkusen etc.

The amount of "talent" in City's squad right now is so-so...
Yaya is declining, Nasri is either hugely inconsistent or declining already, Navas is meh, other CMs are meh, GK and CBs are pretty good but could be better... I don't know are Bony, Dzeko & Jovetic better than Mandzukic & Griezmann.
Silva and Aguero are fantastic and the full-backs are good, but City are actually in need of more talent.
Obviously he would have a much bigger budget at City, though.

How much money do you think will be needed to pull Koke, Miranda and Isco? I think City will be just fine with some decent signing.

With some decent signings, yeah, but Nasri, Navas, Mangala, Jovetic, Fernandinho, these have all supposedly been decent signings, but all have left something to be desired. Maybe Mangala shouldn't be there since he needs more time, but anyway. City need to start making truly good signings instead of just decent ones or they'll never take the next step.

They need more than those 3, at least their defense. Their entire back 4 along with their DM (fernando) are pretty crap where as fernandinho is only decent.
Will need some solid defenders and not just washed up veterans like sagna and clichy if they want to be serious in their quest for further glory.
Lol despite all their defensive reinforcement requirements watch them going all guns blazing for messi or pogba and for some random FM wondekids like Balanta or Kongolo and breaking the bank for the latter lot.

What world do some people here live in? Money dictates most things. City can pay them 3 times more. Did Atletico not dismantle Chelsea last year? yet Costa and Luis wanted to leave. Players would leave to come to big teams in the EPL because of the ÂŁÂŁÂŁ. Except you're Bayern, Madrid or Barcelona, every player is up for grabs.
People here act so naive.

In most cases, the doubling/trebling of salaries more than make up for it

Benitez to City would certainly be interesting and not a bad signing. I wouldn't mind him back if we didn't have a better manager in Rodgers already.
