Mattia Destro is set for a spell on the sidelines after Roma confirmed that he has picked up a knee injury.

The striker suffered the problem in Wednesday’s first leg Coppa Italia semi-final win over Inter at the Olimpico.

Roma have today announced that the Italian international has sustained a tear to the lateral meniscus in his left knee and will thus require surgery.

He’ll go under the knife in the “coming days”, but the Giallorossi didn’t give an indication of when he will be back in action. ANSA are reporting that he could be out for two months.

And Lopez is still off beasting in the U-20 SA Champs as well. This could be a perfect time to re-introduce him into setup. Simba will do what he does best though up front, but I worry about his fitness now too.
