Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Sky Sports understands Gary Hooper has turned down Celtic's latest contract offer after the Hoops rejected Norwich's second bid for the striker.
The Canaries' initial bid last Thursday, reported to be in the region of £5million, was rebuffed by the Scottish champions, with Hoops boss Neil Lennon later claiming it was "nowhere near our valuation of the player".
However, Norwich remain keen to sign the Englishman, who scored twice last weekend to take his season tally to 20 goals, and it is believed they upped their offer on Monday only for it to be snubbed again.
Hooper has regularly been linked with a move to the Premier League thanks to his goal-scoring exploits at Parkhead since his arrival from *bleep* in 2010 and believes playing in England would boost his international chances.
The 24-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer of 2014, has been in talks over an extension to his current deal since the start of the season but it now appears the refusal of this latest offer could signal his exit during the transfer window.

Ashley has genuinely lost it
Sissoko, Haidara, Gouffran and Mbiwa all look likely joining by the end of the week.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Montpellier playmaker Younes Belhanda is edging closer to a move to Fenerbahce after the Turkish side’s vice-president confirmed personal terms had been agreed.
Belhanda was the inspiration behind Montpellier’s first ever Ligue 1 title last season, scoring 12 goals and picking up four assists in 28 appearances.
The Moroccan international, currently playing in the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham and Arsenal, but now appears to be on the verge of heading to Fenerbahce despite reports suggesting that the move had broken down.
Montpellier president Louis Nicollin has claimed that a move to Fenerbahce would be ‘impossible’ because of the difference between asking price and the offer made by the Turkish club.
It would appear as though the lack of interest from elsewhere has forced Montpellier to lower their valuation of Belhanda however, with Fenerbahce vice-president Abdullah Kigili revealing the two parties are still haggling over a fee with personal terms having already been agreed.
"They'd reduced their original price to €10m [£8.4m] but we've offered them €8m [£6.7m]. We have an agreement with the player himself, now we just have to wait for Montpellier to accept our offer," he told AA.
Arsenal were linked with a move for Belhanda over the summer, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said to be a fan, however their interest in the playmaker appears to have cooled.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Edin Dzeko's agent has played down talk linking the striker with a move to Inter Milan and insisted he will not be leaving Manchester City this month or during the summer.
Dzeko has previously admitted that he felt he could be the player sold if City decide to bring in a new attacker, but he has played a key role this season and has a deal with the club until 2015.
He remains committed to City and keen to stay, despite ongoing speculation linking the Bosnia-Herzegovina international with a move elsewhere.
Inter Milan are among the clubs to have been credited with an interest, but Dzeko's representative Irfan Redzepagic says he has not been approached by anyone.
The agent told tuttomercatoweb.com: "Are Inter Milan interested in him for next summer? I know nothing.
"Inter have never contacted me and I think the answer would be obvious.
"Edin is happy at Manchester City and he's not going to move from there, neither in January nor in summer.
"He still has two-and-a half years on his contract and there is no reason to talk about the future. And then I repeat: neither Inter nor any other club have called me. "

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Reported Arsenal target Adam Szalai has cooled speculation linking him with a move this month by saying he expects to stay at Mainz.
The Gunners are thought to be keen on the 25-year-old striker, who has scored nine goals for the Bundesliga club so far this season.
Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Lazio have also been linked with the Hungary international, who is contracted at Mainz until June 2015.
Mainz said earlier this month that Arsenal have not been in touch over a potential deal and Szalai, thought to have a €15million (£12.5m) price tag, is not expecting to move away from the German side this month.
He told German television on Monday: "There hasn't been any connection made with the clubs who have been reported in the press, so I don't have to think about being an Arsenal striker.
"It's improbable that I'll go anywhere in the winter transfer window and that 15million euros will be paid for me."

Iturbe's agent blasts Porto
Augusto Paraja: "Iturbe is feeling sick, he doesn't understand why Porto is making him pay a bill that he should not pay. Iturbe is a kid and I will not permit them to do this to him. It's been a year and a half since they've been punishing him and don't let him play. They tell him to find a club, we arranged everything with River, a good place for him to get some playing time, but now they want him to stay at Portugal in spite of not being considered for playing time."

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
New manager Mauricio Pochettino says he will bring in players from La Liga to ensure that his "ambitious project" at Southampton has every chance of success.
Pochettino, 40, guided Saints to a 0-0 draw with Everton on Monday in his first match in charge since replacing Nigel Adkins, who was sacked on Friday after two-and-a-half years successful years at the helm.
In a one-on-one interview with Revista de la Liga's Guillem Balague, former Espanyol manager Pochettino outlined his vision for the club.
"What attracted me was the structure I was presented with when I spoke to the club," he said. "Also, I wanted to work with young players; Southampton has the youngest squad in the Premier League.
"I like the idea of developing young talent and working with the coaching staff at the formative level. It strikes me as an ambitious project, a project with a view to the future.
"Obviously, first of all we will be looking at the players coming through the academy, the young players who have grown up with English football at Southampton. Beyond that, Spain is obviously a market which I know better than any other and which is rich with talent."

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head to head in a race to sign rising Inter Milan star Fredy Guarin.
According to a calcimercato.it report, both Sir Alex Ferguson and Andre Villas-Boas are extremely interested in the Colombia international.
However, it does say a move to Old Trafford or White Hart Lane would be very unlikely or cost a significant amount of money as Guarin is contracted until 2016 and has become a firm fans favourite, taking up the mantle of the now transferred Wesley Sneijder.
The Holland international has joined Turkish side Galatasaray and the Inter fans have taken to the man who has shone in the role of attacking playmaker.
Manchester United have been criticised for a lack of creative flair in the middle of midfield, while Tottenham look short in that area after the injury to Sandro ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Guarin can also be deployed in a deeper role in midfielder, so Ferguson and Villas-Boas would be getting a versatile operator should they decide to move for him.

It would be hard for him to get that many minutes at Roma considering the wealth of attacking talent. Lopez is already suffering from that.Epoto wrote: I want Iturbe at Roma so bad , make a loan bid sabatini , make a loan bid

Official: Wolski to Fiorentina
It is now official that Fiorentina have a deal with Legia Warsaw for Rafal Wolski, who “has left for Italy to undergo his medical.”
As we reported earlier this evening, there were rumours that the two clubs had reached an agreement worth around €2.8m for the 20-year-old Polish international midfielder.
“Wolski has left for Italy to undergo his medical with Fiorentina,” read a statement on the Legia Warsaw website.
“The agreement with Fiorentina has not yet been signed, but the clubs are negotiating and very close to a deal.”
It is believed only formalities remain before the contracts can be signed.
