Had England been in place of Argentina....
And drew their first game in an international competition they host against a relatively mediocre team, they'd get ripped to shreds here. Terry wud be compared to Cathcart nGerrard would be nicknamed rich man's David Dunn and the rest. Imagine England hosting euro 2012 n drawing Estonia in the first game. MAYBE, we are just too harsh on England and English players at times, dun ya think? WOrdering if the Argentine media will get any blame

Bolivia rank in FIFA =97 #fact
England vs Croatia [rank 8] = total destruction.

They will be ripped to shreads in Argentina by the media.
England only get it worse because the media go on a creaming frenzy every time an International tournament comes round.

Re: Had England been in place of Argentina....
As I type, the various sports journalists in Argentina are putting the final touches on the what would be a very damning report on their embarrassing home draw to 93rd (or somewhere there) ranked Bolivia in La Plata.
As for here, yeah, England would be ripped a new one and they did draw their first game in a major tournament. Didn't host it but 1/2 ain't bad...

You call this a bad performance? Last time we played against Bolivia we lost 6-1, now we tied 1-1

Re: Had England been in place of Argentina....
Its near sighted to claim that Argentina won't get any criticism
They'll get loads of it, but it won't be in any of the english-language stuff that we usually read so we probably won't see it

Re: Had England been in place of Argentina....
Except for Messi? Messi is the number 1 public enemy in Argentina. There are people that are pro and anti-messi. Obviously the later being composed of idiots who don't realize we have the heir to Maradona in our team.

Croatia dominated that game. As expected
On topic: Isn't this the other edge of the sword that is the English media? They make Beckham look like a God but when you're shit, they crucify you.
