i do not think it is. He actually did not push playing every game this season, and he is known to do so just for sake of playing (even when there are no records to be broken). Tito benched him at least couple of times with oppositions that he could score tones of goals and get the record earlier on.

Also, the ref gave the goal to Messi and it's being counted for Messi in the European Golden Foot award, so the fact that Marca are biased has little effect.
