Has BPL set the record???
Is PL the first league where 15 matches into the season and:
1. There's a team unbeaten (Man City)
2. There's a team that hasn't drawn a single game (Man Utd)
3. There's a team that hasn't won a single game (QPR)
Has this ever been done before longer than 15 matches?

First CL champion to not get out of the group stage.
First EPL team to not win a game in the CL group stages.
Two more records for the EPL.

Re: Has BPL set the record???
Well, the Bundesliga never had such a constellation. Funnily, even Tasmania Berlin managed one win within the first 15 matchdays in their record season 1965/66 (where they managed an amazing 2 wins, 4 draws and 28 losses with 15:108 goals) XDMessiah "Aggerswagger" wrote:Is PL the first league where 15 matches into the season and:

Please don't turn this into a worthless league vs league thread (looking at you, norton).

I'm failing to see the significance in this.
Can someone please tell me why this is commendable?

Re: Has BPL set the record???
Does the fact that it hasn't been done before make it worth telling?
I mean, I could take this Lipton Green Tea I'm drinking, get out the red card I have from reffing and show it to myself while drinking the green tea in the mirror, but I'm not going to go out and tell people I did something no one else has
I fail to see where this is worth commending. I guess at the very least it's somewhat interesting? Maybe?

Re: Has BPL set the record???
But back to the point, what I found interesting was that it's taken three different teams 15 games for one to remain unbeaten, for another to avoid draws, and for the last to fail to get a win.
This run could potentially be ending with City and United facing each other unless City win of course.

I thought its interesting, the world is full of trivial records like this that people find interesting. Its a shame the thread didnt make it to 1 comment before someone piped up with their bitterness and insecurity

It's a bit different but I was wondering when city played yesterday, is this the first time that an EPL champion finishes last in their CL group?

Re: Has BPL set the record???
*United are just three games short of equalling Bolton's Premier League record of no draws in their opening 18 games (set last season).
only teams doing worse are before PL era
*QPR will set a new Premier League record of failing to win any of their opening 16 games if they fail to win at Wigan.
Only three teams have failed to win any of their opening 16 top-flight games before (Burnley 1889-90, Bolton 1902-03 & Sheffield United 1990-91).

I love the PL, but the fact Man City hasnt lost yet makes the league look bad because the really arent all the great.

nufc wont beat them
mancini barely has any tactical awareness hence he guides his sides with results in the league and cant get his team to play in the cl. the city side dont fear anybody in england - they're a whole different side in the PL and the CL

The sad thing is that with City's CL exit, they can easily concentrate on two competitions while Man U and Chel..ohh never mind..has 3 competitions to worry about and extra schedules in between weekends.
They'll probably embarrass themselves and the EPL by going out in the Group Stages again next year as English Champions.
