Can Barca set a new record?

Just last season Real Madrid set a new record of a very impressive 121 goals scored in 38 matches in La Liga, after breaking the 100 goal mark with 102 goals scored the season before that. These are record breaking numbers but this season it's Barca who are on a blistering scoring run and in only 21 matches they've put in an amazing 71 goals.

Now I don't have Real's numbers at this same stage of the season last year but Barca have 17 matches to score 50 goals in order to match Madrid's impressive mark last season. In 21 they've gotten 71 so 17 to get 50 is way possible. That being said, just to see how far we can take the GL jynx, and to really test its strength how close do you think Barca can get to last year's record? (And just to be clear La Liga itself looks to be safe from the jynx at this stage, so really we're only jynxing the potential goal record.)

Barcelona has actually scored 114 goals last season without Villa, with Pedro injured half of the season and Fabregas having stopped scoring in the second half of the season. This season Messi is yet again improving, Villa is contributing and Fabregas looks more settled while Pedro too is getting on the scoresheet again. The only thing that might prevent Barcelona from breaking the record is if they win the league on matchday 33 and play the B team for the rest of the season.

Gotta give this a BUMP!!! With 32 games played, there's only 6 to go and Barca currently sit at 99 goals. This means that they would need approximately 3.8 goals per game for the remainder of La Liga in order to surpass the record-breaking 122 goal mark, being 23 goals away. It doesn't sound like a whole lot but with only 6 games to go it will be tough.

But at the very least they did reach the 99 mark!
