Italian champions Juventus have wished club icon Alessandro Del Piero a happy birthday with a brief note on their website.

“Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero celebrates his 38th birthday today,” the Turin statement read.

“The striker, who broke the club’s all-time scoring records during 19 glorious years in Turin, will enjoy his special day in Australia, where he is continuing to show the undisputed class that led the Bianconeri to numerous successes throughout his time at the club.

“All associated with Juventus Football Club wish Alessandro a very happy birthday.”

Del Piero left the Turin giants in the summer after his contract came to an end. He subsequently signed a deal with Australian side Sydney FC.
