I feel like he's crossed a threshold from 'wonderkid prodigy' status to 'established legend'.

Happy birthday to a true genius. It's great even if we get to see one player like him playing in our life time.

As far as I know he is single now and there are rumors that he's become a party boy for a short time. So instead of one gift from one GF, right now there are too many girls wanting to gift too many things to him.

To be very honest I share some of your sentiment. However I am also realistic enough to understand what kind of a world we live in and how desires and expectations keep increasing all the time - even more so among the rich and the famous. Breakups including divorces have become a very regular part of life. Messi is after all else a human being. I will not hold him wrong till it is ever revealed that he has committed some kind of crime, broken some commitment to any individual or shown any lack of desire and fight while playing for country or club. By and large beyond that paradigm he is free to live his life as he pleases and he will still be a big hero in my eyes.

Dude, tbh... at the end of the day, all of his off field antics are really none of your business. So regardless of if he cheated on his girlfriend with a million other girls, you can't "hold it against him". As it's his life to live. Too often players are placed too highly on pedestals only to be criticized and scrutinized for any little mistake that they make. People often forget that they're just people and will make human mistakes.

Enjoy when they're out on the field, everything else, isn't our business.

Well I think you guys understood me...it's not like it made me think any less of Lionel because I do not know the perimeters...just sad in terms of I thought they were a nice couple with a nice story, etc. Lionel is still the classiest top five player in the world by far.
