The last 2 times we've played West Brom, our manager has been sacked. It's become sort of a running joke amongst supporters (informed supporters, that is ). Like a few months back, when one of the FA Cup draws was being done not long after FSW was hired, I said I hope we draw West Brom because "you know what happens then"!

everytime we lose to WBA someone gets sacked
if (when) Shane Long scores a hat trick we'll lose to WBA
because we've lost Rafa will be sacked

therefore youre all going to be cheering for Shane Long

After seeing that you guys are pretty much in the same position as last year in the EPL, do you guys think perhaps it wasn't so much AVB failing as it was the fact that that position was just about where the quality of the squad was?

Because you guys aren't really in a better position than last season (or it's close, I don't know specific stats), and that's after spending a bunch of money in the summer improving the squad...

I was an AVB supporter up until he started to mismanage the team.

There were big names and I can't blame it on AVB but look at Mourinho, Ancelotti, Hiddink, RDM. They had to deal with the old guard but they did the job well.

AVB's falling out with them caused him to name ridiculous line ups causing disharmony and loss in matches. On top of that, he kept on being a dick about it even after he was sacked so yeah.

Why we are in a worse position is because of the board. You may have known that were 4 points off at the top when RDM was sacked and look at us now.

If there was no Torres and a instead a reliable striker, even Ba, with RDM, I'm confident it'd be us, not Man City challenging United for the title

Not interested this time in debating with you guys regarding AVB since it won't go anywhere, but I do pose the aforementioned question simply to get responses on it, as I'm curious as to what you guys think.

Id rather AVB to this fat sack of shit we're stuck with now, and yes id agree we are probably in a worse position now thne we were this time last season, but i still dont think AVBs sacking was wrong.

Tbh i think the dudes ego was gigantic when he joined Chelsea which lead him to making some brain dead choices and trying to drop the entire old guard overnight, imo he benifted from the sacking just as much as we did, its reminded him hes human, no the demi-god he thought he was, and helped him out at Spuds

I supported AVB and i wanted that project he was talking about to work. But he took his steps a bit too early and tried to do it over a short period of time. He should have looked at the recent history of the club and he should have known that the old guard was an important part of the club. You cant just create a new team over one season. And you cant release players just like that. Basically the transition was not smooth, pretty much like shifting a gear in a manual car, he tried to make it swift n took his foot off the clutch too rapidly and it started knocking the car n in the end knocking him out of the car.

I haven't had any time recently due to working full time and uni starting this week, it isn't going to let up until april either. I doubt I will be posting much. I am basically about to go to bed, wake up in a few hours and begin a 13 hour, non stop day so I doubt I'll get time tomorrow either.

I don't post that much more than anyone else, really. I suppose you could say I contribute more, in terms of the making the Matchday threads twice every week, Loan Updates, article postings, etc., but I usually do those in the evening. I don't really sleep too much. Perhaps that answers your question
