Amazing the quality Germany has. Schweinsteiger is also the best German player currently. Lahm and Neuer are probably better than Reus too, but those are completely different positions so its hard to compare.
Schweinsteiger better than Ozil ?
He sure has a case for it. He's IMO the most important player for both Bayern and Germany Players look up to him and he controls the game like few others not to mention his defensive skills on top of that. Seems to always make the right decisions.
Bayern hit a major brick wall after he broke his collar bone last season. They seemed clueless without him at times. Then right when he was making his comeback he injured his ankle ligaments and was out again. He never returned to form for the rest of the season.
It's a major reason that Bayern lost the Bundesliga and Germany failed against Italy. That and of course Jogi Loew's ridiculous decision start Toni Kroos, a central mid with little pace, over Mulller and Reus. On top of that Gomez over Klose, who just doesn't fit into the German system. It was a damn joke and I'm still mad about these ridiculous decisions.
Schweinsteiger deserves even more credit than he already gets. It's still amazes me how he went from OK winger with a lot of heart to such a bad ass midfield player in almost no time. It makes me mad that injuries robbed him of his best season ever.

Reus is already very good and like most germans, he will become better and better in the future. But with all repects for him and Oezil, the german super star should be Goetze in few years, IMHO, if he could continuously develope. He is a natural talent of high[est] order.

I think he is definitely better than Ribey at this point... probably the best winger in the Bundesliga at this point.

TBH not for the past few weeks. Reus is bloody brilliant, but he's been looking tired for a while now. Hasn't scored in a while, didn't take his chances against Real... He needs a rest. But of course he's brilliant if fit. A total game changer. Even when not scoring he tore huge holes into Madrids defence. His runs and dribblings... You can't defend him. That's what makes him so great.

Viva, similar to Stephan El-Shaarawy since Balotelli's inclusion, Reus' role has simply changed. Goetze recently has been afforded extra freedom within the box since Lewandowski is now more of a reference point to Dortmund's play, which means Reus has noticeably had a less advanced position, taking use of his creative side (hence the recent creative stats) & exploiting differed channels of movement compared to his usual ones. Tactically it has resulted in a somewhat less direct usage of the left channel but yet provides far more chances as a whole and better use of Schmelzer who has thrived in exploiting the open spaces.
Very very similar to SES' new role.

Re: Marco Reus - Borussia Dortmund #11
I'll go ahead and say it plain and simple:
Reus is MUCH MUCH better than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Reus tracks back for defense, has a MUCH higher work rate in attack than Cronaldo. CLEARLY a better dribbler than Cristiano (Cristiano in Madrid.. The ManU one was arguably better).. A better passer than Cristiano.. He just loses out on shooting I guess but hes not very far behind... His contributions in defense doesnt allow him to score as much but otherwise he'd be able to rack up as many goals Cronaldo AT LEAST..
Reus is plain and simply one of the most underrated players on earth. LOVE THIS GUY.
This is coming from a guy who regularly watches BVB and Madrid games so I'm in a good position to judge. Cristiano's unwillingness to track back makes him an absolute liability as the left flank constantly gets exploited because of this.

Re: Marco Reus - Borussia Dortmund #11
So where is Reus's career headed towards?
He is 26 atm. Doesn't look like he will be leaving for anyone. So Dortmund legend in the end or destined for Bayern/Madrid/Liverpool?

It would be nice if he stayed at Dortmund. We lack this type of loyalty these days

Hope he stays unless he's going to join Rafa's title hunt next season anyway.

Really sad to see, for him it must hurt a lot, to miss out on the WC win and then this. I was looking forward to seeing him in a big tourny.... I think tis fair to say this time Germany are definitely weakened without him.

He needs to move or else his career will always have that "what if?" question hanging over it. Maybe in January in Hummels's footsteps.

I think a move to Liverpool is realistic nowadays @McAgger
lad has never lived up to his potential. Shows flashes at times but is always injuried and can never find consistency.
he and gotze are the german walcott and wilshere IMO

He's like Robben minus the god given ability to play for the first time in months and not miss a step.
