same case how would an unproven rb at the top level be worth to us.

there is no natural rb out there that could be an improvement.

since mou wants ramos at cb, and arbeloa has nothing in attack, he has to go to the extremes and look at coentrao.

mou- ' coentrao is a kid ive liked for a long time, specially for his good disposition in different positions."

I'm not saying we shouldn't buy Coentrao, I'm saying shouldn't they be contenders? All of them are attacking too.

i just explained why they shouldnt. they offer absolutley nothing that mou wants or that would be an improvement.

If he doesnt, no worries, Carvalho still has a year in him

To be fair TMO, we can only speculate at the moment based on what we've seen. Nothing is guaranteed until we see the plans laid out on the table.

Mou was apparently keen to sign a LB but then turned Marcelo into arguably one of the best LB's in the world last season.

It's crazy to think that 12 months later, the same man Mou was questioned about and dismissed looks to be arriving, albeit for an entirely new position.

coentrao is defensively sound and is arguably the best attacking lb out there, mou wants that at rb, thats why he wanted maicon last year.

why even look at any of those you mentioned.

This is very true, we need someone better than either Ramos or Arbeloa, there are currently maybe a couple of those in the world, of which only Coentrao is available.

Van der Wiel etc. are not good enough at all to fit in such a role.

I'd hardly call Ramos a liability. Personally I still think he's one of the top 5 RB's in the world.

wll, last season ramos was pretty average as RB as well, and with the NT they have 90% of possession, he almost does nothing defensively.

Ramos was limited in his role this season because when you expand his role, he goes missing and under performs at times. It was a way to put a leash on him and have him behave.

i still remember how impressive he has been playing at the RB since january this year compared to last year. i wonder why cant mou give him progress and develop him more at the spot
but with the CB problem, he really need to move in there....

people normally have high expectation on a player like him, very normal imo.

but he is still young, at 25, if he continue to play more in a specific role he will shine more and improve more.
