death threats referee Sergio Pezzotta was the subject of in the second-leg of the promocion match against Belgrano, according to Ole.

After the match, Pezzotta wrote a report to the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) in which he stated that several fans of River Plate had broken into his dressing room at halftime, threatening to kill him if he did not signal a penalty for the home side in the second-half.

Newspaper Ole had access to video footage of River Plate's stadium which shows that members of the club's staff allowed eight fans of the club to enter the dressing room area.

Gabriel Riccio, River Plate's chief of security, is seen talking to Francisco Bierniakowicz and Nestor Morelli, two subordinates of his. Bierniakowicz, known as 'Jajo', then went on to talk to Martin Araujo - the head of Los Borrachos del Tablon, one of the most violent barra bravas in the country- to explain to him that the group could not walk through the main hall as it was being watched by the police.

After this, Morelli opened another door which led to the dressing room and escorted the group there.

There is also evidence that club secretary Daniel Bravo gave the order of the attack, as he told one of the barra bravas' leaders on the phone: "Do it now, but quickly."

In light of this evidence, River Plate could be docked 18 points next season, which would see it start the second division well behind the other clubs. On Tuesday, it was reported that the club could face a 20-game suspension from the Estadio Monumental following the shocking scenes of violence in the stands and around the stadium during the promocion match.

Politics will play its role and they won't get such deductions or suspensions.

It's really the City's fault that all hell broke lose. The cops were just completely undermanned and the situation was completely predictable. Wtf did they think was going to happen if River lost? Even if we won we still would've broken everything...

If the things said in the OP are true, they deserve to be punished.
