I hate chip through balls, I almost never use them. It can take a long time for a player to get that ball down on the ground, and by then if they don't have a large lead on the defender, the chance is lost. Plus I just don't like playing that way. Working it on the ground is fun, chipping it to pacey players is just lame.

It's lame if that's the gameplan and you would only play that pace; you often see that tactic in clubs. But CBarca, you'll see when you play clubs with us, there we be moments when that pass will be the best option.

So P$G came and asked me to sell Oscar for 30mil and the board advised me that he is valued 40mil.

I counter offered 70mil so they'll back off. They didn't and he's gone Sad

im noob and that's me....i just stay in the hole all day, linking up the plays as a 10, and chip, through ball. I get a lot more assist than goals :I

Kinda frustrated when my player only has 70 accele and 73 pace....it's like i can't beat anyone even if it was a nice through ball. Defender would just come back so quickly and outmuscle me :[

Your not missing much, except for

-Taking part in some the worst games you have ever seen due to players messing up easy passes because of the badly implemented first touch feature

-Slow defenders like Snailtesacker outpacing the likes of Walcott and Bale

-99% of h2h players in Div 3 upwards either using Real Madrid, playing 5 at the back or abusing the long ball

-Messi still wanna leaves Barca, and you can't do a thing to stop your board selling him

Good points

-Through ball feature actually works now

-Finesse shot has been nerfed

I didn't find the first touch feature that bad tbh. It's far more realistic now than it was before where heskey could control a 70 yard long ball like it was nothing.

I hope I can bring myself to use it, I certainly can recognize the option. I just prefer to use a through ball on the ground 99% of the time Very Happy

Also, bad first touch on easy passes is really pissing me off now. I love the game, and I'm aight with the first touch feature, but players at the top level are NOT going to mess up trapping a short, easy pass.

In terms of transfers, I'd get a new LB for Arsenal. Use Gibbs/Andre Santos and cash to buy someone. Not sure how much Gibbs/Santos are worth, but you probably won't have to pay much for a top LB using trade and cash.

Also you should do a cash plus Walcott/attacker and get a better attacker imo.

What should I do when at the end of Sahin's loan? I'm considering Strootman, Gundogan, Leitner, or just relying on my current options (Bender, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Henderson, Shelvey). Thoughts?

It's worth noting, I suppose, that Sahin is currently out for three months with a broken ankle in my game (midway through first season) and both Gerrard and Lucas have the injury prone trait.

Use Lucas/Bender/Gerrard/Allen/Henderson/any player you don't need alongside cash to buy a CM?

Maybe someone like Moutinho. Or even sign Sahin permanently.

I'm not selling Gerrard to keep Sahin, and selling a DM for a CM/CAM would unbalance my midfield so that rules Lucas and Bender out. Allen is a possibility, but then I would have half my midfield (Lucas, Sahin, Gerrard) as injury prone players, and I have about the worst luck imaginable with that type of player. I can rotate every match, never run their stamina too far down and they'll still pick up 3 to 6+ month injuries every season or repeatedly get 3 week type knocks. My only issue with Strootman is that he's a bit slow.

How about Bender/Lucas and cash for a CM, then Henderson/Shelvey and cash for a DM backup?

Since Gerrard's getting old, I'd do a Gerrard and cash deal and get a younger AM.

If depth is still an issue, then if you don't need to strengthen any other positions, maybe just buy a backup midfielder that can cover every position?
