Martinez over Busquets?

With Martinez now moving to a big club in Bayern Munich, will he be more recognized and be able to take that DM spot from Busquets for the National Team? I think he could.

Busquets is by far better. He's the best at his position... just ignore the diving for the purposes of this discussion.

Spain plays more like Barca than Bayern.. I think The Biscuit is locked in for the time being

I cannot agree with this lol, simply because of my boy Camacho....but at the same times this is quite funny.

Martinez transfers to Bayern, plays about 15 minutes.....and he begins campaigning for him to replace Busquets in the national team.

I'm a fan of him too. Always liked him since his youth days. Spain have plenty of quality in this position.

I just think Busquets is incredible. Call me biased or whatever, but thats my opinion. Every coach he has seems to think the same, I don't think its coincidence.

I know for a fact that Busquets is better, considerably better, but I still want to believe. He's made incredible progress under Pellegrini at least.

As long as Spain continue to play a posession game, Bisquits is undroppable. Especially is VDB continues to be Spain manager.

If he performs really well and shows he's better than Busquets, then it's possible.

I wasn't saying anything. I was asking a simple question, if people think he can eventually overtake Busquets. I don't see what the big deal is.

yeah but have you seen the 30 minutes he has played? the kid was definitely worth the outlay and its even brought out more of the gustavo you saw against you

On the other hand, Bayern aren't half bad at playing a possession game either, and VDB supposedly commented on that he sees Martínez do well at Bayern.

I think Bussi is sometimes really underrated. Perhaps he may seam despicable because of his playacting, but i think he is top 3 if not the best in the role he plays for Barca and NT. Of course there could be a new player who can be better, but personally, i do not see Martinez as a threat to Bussi's place, at least not in a year or 2 if not ever.

I think Busquet's diving suits Spain far better than Martinez' physicality.
If Spain ever were to change styles, Martinez would have a shot, but as of now... I think for his particular role at Spain and Barca, Biscuits is a lock.

Martinez might get a shot in defense, or replace Xabi, though.

Edit: So I guess this means I agree with Ninis and Yohan Modric.

Not sure about Martinez (I don't really consider Martinez a DM) but I think he could potentially surpass Garcia.

He's being moulded into a Senna esque player.

Schalke signed Neustadter for free but Javi was worth 48 million?...I don't see how honestly.

I didn't watch but I'm going to assume he came on for Schweinstiger and played Schweinstiger's role , something he will do quite well if given the oppurtunity. He can also play as a centre back.

Somehow I think it's going to end up being a choice between him and Schweinstiger...Gustavo is better than Javi within his own role.

Martinez isnt even a holding midfielder. Not saying he has to be or thats the only role he can play to get into the team but...even if he was a better player than Busquets (he obviously isnt) it would change the structure of the team and perhaps that isnt what the coach is looking for.

Busquets is at the moment superior yet the difference doesn't have the gap as many make it out to be. For me Javi is a better passer and can influence the midfield better with his all round ability and dictation. The fact is that they are too different players with different roles so a comparison is not to valid.
