In Ghana you'd still go to jail for sleeping with a minor even if she lied about her age to you, the good thing is that they both wouldn't have committed a crime as the legal age for sex is 16.

With that said I hope they have good lawyers, it's be sad for a footballer to waste any of his short playing career in jail.

They are both at fault for sleeping with an under-age, Ribery is married and shouldn't have done this.

I don't understand why Real Madrid fans are trying to defend him, if he didn't sleep with her no one will be bringing any case against him, the judiciary system is not stupid. Nevertheless I hope they are not charged again and as a result get convicted, I just feel there is more to this and in my honest opinion I feel Sepp has something to do with it...

Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery and Real Madrid's Karim Benzema have both been acquitted over charges of soliciting an under-age prostitute.

Ribery, 30, admitted to paying for sex with Zahia Dehar back in 2009, but denied being aware that she was younger than 18 at the time of the incident.

Benzema, 26, rejected all accusations of having any sexual involvement with the same girl, with the Criminal Court of Paris ruling there was not enough evidence to prosecute either player.

The age of consent in France is 15, but paying for intercourse with someone below the age of 18 is classed as having sex with a minor.

Ribery, Benzema and Zahia all opted not to attend the court case.
