Not everyone has your connections.

I watch every game , and he probably is better than Benzema and Ozil or Higuain, but in no way does he merit the credit pundits give him as compared to the other members of our attack, they want to play into their viewer niche to engender some sort of rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo , when that race has already been run and we all know who won it. That's the only reason they pretend that Ronaldo is head and shoulddrs above every Real Madrid attacker.

giggity i also dont compare ronaldo to messi. i talk about last season. messi considered the best player without a question until the last weeks. then bad days started, he lost in clasico, he missed a penalty against chelsea. This was the worst way to end the season. In other hand ronaldo had good days, he scored against barcelona and his team won La liga. This funny scenario changed everything otherwise there would no argument about who was better player last season

"funny" like it wasn't supposed to happen.

All your doing is comparing them. When I am not arguing that messi was central to barca's success that season more then ronaldo to madrid.

But there aren't ifs or buts. It happened. Period.

Look I'm coming off as a Ronaldo hater. The truth is I still wish he was ta United. If he was there we would be demolishing all the small teams. i just think Messi is better than him and had a better season INDVIDUALLY.

Everyone has raised valid points on boths sides. My only issue is when I see Iker near the top 5, what BS.

Messi
Ronald or Pirlo are the top 3 for me.

All this arguement is rubbish. Even when Messi doesn't score he has a massive impact. Ronaldo dissapears too much. It's that obvious. The only thing Ronaldo can even compare to Messi is are goals, Messi has more, messi creates more, messi is Barcelona. All this whos better this, Messi was better last season. Madrid were better than Barcelona, thats it.

I don't want to get too much into this but how can you say Ronaldo dissapears too much when he scored against every single La liga team last season!! Does he have to be "on" every single 90 minutes and score hat tricks every single game??

I really want to avoid comparing Ronaldo to him but have you ever heard of Klass Jan Huntelaar?

Scored 50 last season and everytime he touches the ball outside the box it's either completely insignificant or straight up disastrous.
That's not ronaldo at all and I proved it earlier..
Ronaldo doesn't suck at build up play if you think about it, benzema is just better at it.

I disagree, i don't think Benzema is better at either build up, creativity nor finishing

Ronaldo:
Goals 46 Assists 12 Shots P/G 6.9 Key Passes 1.9 Succesfull Dribles P/G 1.9 Passes 1405 Pass Acc 80.6% Acc Crosses P/G 0.6 Acc Long Balls P/G 1.1 Acc Through Balls P/G 0.5

Benzema:
Goals 21 Assists 7 Shots P/G 2.9 Key Passes 1.2 Succesfull Dribles P/G 0.5 Passes 908 Pass Acc 81.8% Acc Crosses P/G 0.1 Acc Long Balls P/G 0.9 Acc Through Balls P/G 0.3

Benzema is better at holding the ball

Or did you just quote a statsheet from whoscored to analyze "creativity" and "link up play"

Who? Me? I watched them week in and week out last season.

I think its an amazing team last season, one touch passing, quick and lethal. Everyone was amazing Benzema, Di Maria, Ozil, Alonso, Khedira, Marcelo and Ronaldo being standouts for me.

Even the "worst" in the squad displayed fantastic football IMO like Kaka, Lass, Albiol.

Benzemas use of space is better and he is better of opening up gaps for his teammates. Ronaldo is the best at exploiting that gap. Finishing I would still say Benzema but only slightly, not enough to give him over ronaldo. Build up Benzema isnt better either. Someone go and watch The Ajax goal. Quite possibly the best counter I have ever seen. Space creation is all i give benzema, and better technique. thats it.

He's not even close when it comes to finishing, but his build up play is just as good as ronaldos. Ronaldo is an incredibly creative player imo, so benzema is not even close there

Stop overhyping Messi's performance last season, the dude's poor form away from home and his misses in the Champions League against Chelsea cost Barcelona two titles.

Barcelona was an excellent team, and if Messi couldn't win any of the most important titles with them, then I'm sorry he doesn't deserve the Ballon D'Or.

Jibers beat me to that.
CR fanboy Villa injured Abidal sick, pique off form, pedro injured, iniesta as usual, xavi off form. even Alves got injured but it was short term. Ok except some games we didnt see barca with full squad. Messi got new friends Keita Cuenca Tello. Credit to Messi that all these things didnt affect him he still continued scoring and assisting and if he didnt miss penalty it would be the best ever "leading a team to victory" performance by a player

Cuenca and Tello were playing because Guardiola preferred them to Pedro, Barcelona was still a very strong side even with Cuenca and Tello, plus they lost the league long before Villa got injured with Messi and his team flopping away from home, Messi had 1 goal in 10 games or so away from home before his hattrick at La Rosaleda in January.

Stop complaining about injuries and loss of form or we'd be here all day, Di Maria and Sahin were injured for half the season Arbeloa and Kaka had drops in form at one point or the other, Alonso was fatigued at a certain stages in the league etc... The bottom line is that Messi with a very strong Barcelona team was beaten in the league by Ronaldo and Madrid and the point differential was huge.

There is no manager in the world who would play Cuenca/tello ahead of pedro unless he is forced to. Guardiola did not prefer them, he had no choice because of Pedro's constant injuries.

Also, Villa got injured on 15th December. The difference between Barcelona and Madrid was just 3 points on 7th december, a day before they had to leave for japan.

Pep made a lot of strange decisions last season two were the fact that he dropped Pique for Mascherano in several games for loss of form, the same applied to Pedro and Cuenca, after Pedro's return from injury. Villa's form was suspect before his injury.

Madrid were winning their away games apart from the Levante and Racing matches, including some tough fixture, Barcelona's failure to win those matches cost them in the end.

And I think I have explained the injury issue Madrid also had injuries to key players before and during the course of the season but no one is using it as an excuse.

He had a massive impact against Chelsea and Real Madrid? hahahah please....

Chelsea he was still dangerous and created massive space and was involved in ALL the missed chances.

By my count he raped Madrid 4 times last season. And in the 2-1 loss created GS chances for Tello and Xavi that they should have buried. Barcelona had more scoring chances but were useless (Thank God!). Ronaldo meanwhile failed hard against Barcelona in the supercups, did absiolutely nothing and managed to fumble in a agoal he knew nothing about. Looked out of his depth in the first league meet, so much so that the guy was booed so much by Madrid fans. My Madrid mates who have seaosn tickets confirmed this for me so that is absolute. Ronaldo once again in his career failed at the biggest moment of the season, he missed another crucial penalty, like he did against Barca in 08, and against chelsea in 08. Big game player, he is not. Ruthless goal scorer he is. Now If we are comparing Rpnaldo to Messi in terms of abiity, he falls short in pretty much every category, but GS, he is up there with anyone in history for me. That is all I see Ronaldo as, ever sincde hsi alst seaosn for United, a ruthless goal scorer. He isnt effecient, but he does it in the end. He has had more shjots in one season than Raul did in his final 3 season at Madrid. That is all.

nah it was thiago and iniesta setting him up... so that was wrong. he only set up xavi, that was his ONLY contribution in that game

What a debate billion

Jibers I think benzema needs to improve his finishing overall, and a big thing is his headers. they're horrible. For me benzema has an unreal first touch and technique but he needs to improve on his finishing in front of goal. Scores the difficult goals, blasts the easy ones.
