Schweinsteiger vs Alonso

Bastian Schweinsteiger and Xabi Alonso both have excellent dribbling skills, ball control, relatively accurate passing and good tackling capability who both can take set pieces. Both good readers of the game and have a good boot on them.
Which one?

I would take Alonso at present.

I don't know about Schweini but Alonso can't dribble if his life is depended on it.

Alonso is a better passer, Bastain is better defensively. Pick your posion. Bastian and yaya comparison would be more appropriate tbh.

Alonso for me better passer but overall Shweini is better player.

Alonso is better at long balls. Schweini is better at everything else. Dribbling and. Ball control, like turning his markers, Schweini is second only to Pirlo (midfielders-wise). Schweini also has better vision for through balls and is better defensively.

Xabi Alonso had better defensive stats in both the league and the UCL, he also had better passing stats in both the league and the UCL, passes per game/pass completion, better long ball numbers, as in total number and accuracy, even Xabi's throughball numbers are better than Bastians.

Xabi was a much better player last season to Bastian in both the league and the UCL, not to mention he performed much better at the Euro's.

Xabi is very very under rated on this forum

Alonso is good at dribbling?

I've never seen Xabi dribbling a player since he is in Madrid. His touch is pretty good, his long passes are second only to Pirlo. Best DLP in the world after Pirlo and Xavi. Schweinsteiger is B2B midfielder, maybe the best after Yaya.
