Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal have have registered their interest in signing Santos attacking midfielder Ganso.
The Brazilian international, 22, has reportedly turned down a contract extension and wants to move to a European club.
Ganso is part owned by investment company DIS, who recently stated that the player ’will not play for Santos again’.
With Jack Wilshere unlikely to return to action before September and likely to be treated with the utmost caution, Arsenal are looking to bring in a creative midfielder.
Senior scouts are set to run the rule over the left footed player during the forthcoming Olympic games before making their move.
Arsenal have approached Santos, as well as the players’ lawyer, but have not yet made an offer for the player.

Arsenal source tells the Daily Mail that the club are still "very hopeful" of Van Persie staying next season. -
Mail: If Wenger fails to convince Van Persie to stay during talks next week, the club will sell the striker immediately.
Mail: Arsenal are seriously considering signing Ganso. Playmaker is one of Wenger's top priorities as Wilshere continues recovery.

@MJ: That was running in the back of my head, but I did not post it because I know many ppl wont give a eff..
@Sam on Lille-Afellay: Time to hijack another of Lille's deals? #Park
@Ganso rumours: I have been saying we need a creative mid all summer. Glad to finally see a rumour on this front.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Ganso's recent tweets are quite interesting (assuming, of course, it is an official account).
https://twitter.com/SamsungPHGanso
A rough translation of a couple of them:
"First of all, I would like to make it clear to Santos fans that I helped this club where I grew up and I played with honour and dignity. There are seven years of pure dedication and at no time have I said I do not want to play for Santos."
He also says that some people are trying to take the focus off all the good things that are happening at Santos, and that people should search for the truth before they start criticising - presumably, he's received some criticism over the recent comments from his investors about how he intends to leave Santos.
He then says he's happy to be training with Brazil and is fully focused on the Olympics.
Given how complicated any potential deal would be, it's hard to see us making a serious move for him. I'm not completely sure, but we'd be required to not only negotiate with Santos, but the third party that owns something like 55% of him, as well, since players in the Premier League aren't allowed to owned by third parties.
Think we may be better off looking else where.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Cabella would be excellent as he's young, pacey, French and a teammate of Giroud.
Holtby would be as well since he's young, creative and German like Per and Lu-lu.
Any of those three (Ganso included) would be fantastic signings.

I agree with Jay. But if Wenger is reportedly mad to sign him, then Wenger will do it. If he can steal Park from Lille and Silvestre from Man City on the last days of their meant-to-be transfers then I sense he may fight like mad to get Ganso.
With Wilshere's long-term future as a CM (in the 2 of a 4-2-3-1) and Ganso a playmaker behind the striker, it's not like we can't sanction this move. Arteta is 30+, Rosicky injury-prone (despite last season) and Ramsey is crazily out of form.

Update on Sakho's future: (linked with us in past)
Ancelotti, coach PSG: "With Silva, Alex, we have good defenders & I'll choose best for each match. If Sakho asks to leave, we've decided he has to stay"
"Carlo Ancelotti has told RMC that he "wants" #Sakho to stay. Reading between the lines, I think there's a significant chance he could go." (via @RBainer )
"The only club to have publicly declared an interest in Sakho is Lyon. Sakho says he wants to leave, Ancelotti says he's staying put." (via @TomWFootball )

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
RVP talk pretty much died over the past week and a bit.
Wonder what the next rumours will be over it.

That's because Arsenal strictly told him and his agent to not utter a word.

Report: Malaga have made excellent playmakers Cazorla & Isco available for transfer after owner refuses to pay debt. - http://bit.ly/NudRIe
Info: Malaga owner refusing to pay off debt himself, so club is selling players to pay it off instead. Crazy. CL Play-off in August too.
--
With Van Persie leaving (probably) & Wilshere's fitness worries, I'd offer for Cazorla/Isco & Rondon immediately.
