What do trophies have to do with what Wenger is saying?

Grande_Milano wrote:Lets agree on one thing: he is not in position to say that. That d be totally acceptable if SAF sid it
But when a coach of a team thats been trophyless since who knows how long, its pretty inadequate and comical
Facts don't change depend on who says it. Ask any Serie A fan if they would take these statements as the truth just because SAF says it.
If your logic is that a person's accomplishments give him the right to get away with controversial statements, AW has accomplished much more than you or me or any one on this forum or any other manager barring SAF in PL. That gives him just as much right to make those statements as SAF. Corollarily, if AW has no right to make those statements, we as much lesser accomplished people have even lesser right to argue on them. (Just showing the fallacy of the logic here).
Again, SAF and AW have had different constraints and both have done well enough with their respective handicaps.

Because he is the using the likes of United ,Chelsea and City to project the league as the best while his team has done squat competing with the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool for 3rd/4th place.Nice loser mentality right there.
By Wenger's logic players would rather play for Spurs "IN DA GREATEST LEAGUE IN DA WORLD" than playing for Bayern Munich for instance which is one of the biggest clubs in the world .SMH.He's one bitter old man.
Would you have come out and said the same had Alex Mcleish said the same thing ?I am not so sure tbh.

Wenger is an overrated coach. I said if a top team cant prove its worth (aka winning the big trophy) for years and also doesnt even compete for it (quater-finals and 4th places), the coach or its players cant really talk smack to other leagues/teams.
You can be butthurt all you want, but Wenger and Arsenal have been a laughing stock for years now, and he only makes himself look worse
Mou can say anything, he proves it

Diego Armando Maradona wrote:Juventus have a good midfield no doubt. But if it does happen i think song-mvila-wilshere would have a lot of potential, and a whole lot of youth on their side to grow and grow. The difference is juve's star man, the one that makes it all work is nearing the end of his career, arsenals star man has all his best years ahead of him
Actually, Juve are very close to signing Pirlo's back-up, Marco Verratti. Pirlo became a deep-lying playmaker when he was 23 (not sure about this one), Verratti's already in that position and he's only 19, and looking at what he's done with Pescara it can be argued that he'll become a player close to Pirlo in terms of quality:

If you can prove to me he said this in the article being talked about in this thread, i will Paypal you £20. All he said was the PL is a more stable league financially, the style of play is more exciting and the league, as a whole, is more popular. He mentioned no PL teams, he said nothing about English teams being better than anyone else and he mocked no-oneSurag wrote:Lex wrote:What do trophies have to do with what Wenger is saying?

But troglodytes like grande_milano and 90% of the people in this thread have a severe reading handicap that only let's them regard what they want to regard. People cry about The Sun only telling half the story and making people look bad, yet here we get the full story, but people only want to believe half of it. Unbelievable.

Stop. You making yourself n Wenger look more embarassing. Him crying about pitches and refs after every match is already a good reason why at least half of this interview is truth

Wenger wrote:There is no reason why a top player, a big champion would want a move to Serie A in terms of the prestige of the League, the level of play or financial considerations.
“If he moves there I will buy you a caramello.”
From Football-Italia.
He does indirectly mean that moving from Arsenal to Juventus is a step down which is stupid..Otherwise why would he say that "no top player wants to play in Italy" ?Juventus is a much more prestigious and ambitious club than Arsenal so by his logic a "top player" from Spurs wouldnt want to move to Bayern cuz the league is inferior ? I think its just his 'polite' way of saying Juventus are a step down for Van Persie..
Wenger is an arrogant prick..He is downright mocking the league as a whole and behaving as though football lovers havent seen anything like the EPL..SMH..Continue licking his arse and have that false hope of once again seeing glory days with this senile old man in charge of your club..

You are trying too hard to save his ass. And facepalm smiles dont help.
Now Wenger put himself in position where he ll be expected to win smth, otherwise all of this "we are bigger than serie a" will look stupid

Wenger at times is a top coach but just confuses me. What's all this nonsense he chats....The last time he bought a big champion was Dennis Bergkamp I think, no big champion would want to go to a team who consistently sells their best players either.
What a frustrating team arsenal is to support, and it's even more frustrating when the manager is being a stupid hypocrite.

It would mean they wouldn't have to go to AC Milan. That alone is worth the price of a plane ticket to HeathrowMilantildeath wrote:There is no reason why a top player, a big champion would want to move to Arsenal and play for Wenger........true story

Swing and a miss yet again, add him to the list:
Benzema
Higuian
Tevez
Aguero

Have you guys thought about signing Maxi Lopez?
