Euro watch: Chelsea player and prospects
Thought it would be good to have our own thread to discuss our players at the Euros and also prospects or players you might like to see come to CFC.
CFC Players:
Players worth watching(reason):
May have included a few randoms but just wanted to have a few on there. It's a shame our national team(Belgium) arn't there but none the less I'm still excited for a good tournament.
If i've missed anybody let me know and i'll fix it up.
CFC Players:
- Group A:
Petr Čech(CZE)
- Group B:
Raul Meireles(POR)
- Group C:
Juan Mata(SPA)
Fernando Torres(SPA)
- Group D:
Florent Malouda(FRA)
Ashley Cole(ENG)
John Terry(ENG)
Players worth watching(reason):
- Gregory van der Wiel(links as a potential RB) - Netherlands
- Martin Ollson(some weird links to us as a LB, probably nothing there) - Sweden
- Fabio Borini(came through our youth, soft spot for him) - Italy
- Shane Long(fatman likes him ) - Ireland
- Yaan M'Vila(class midfielder, worth watching, nothing but speculation) - France
- Ilkay Gundogan(great season for BVB replacing Sahin, again just speculation) - Germany
- Christian Eriksen(haven't had links but a promising youngster worth watching) - Denmark
- Luka Modrić(duh) - Croatia
- Shevchenko(Shevchenko!!!!) - Ukraine

Re: Euro watch: Chelsea player and prospects
I care more about what kind of Music Arsene Wenger listens to than this cup. Partly because I can only watch a few matches and because I would rather our players go on holiday than play in it.

It's just like a bad version of the world cup, but it's still good to watch.
I just heard Sturridge might be going away to Olympics

Re: Euro watch: Chelsea player and prospects
lol Iszanto you can read me like a book, Shane Long is the main reason i want to watch all of Irelands games and i watch a fair few WBA games, i still think hes good enough to play for a top club one day too.
not sure how much game time hes gonna get though, because even though he is miles better then Robbie Keane, Keane is the captain which pretty much garuntees he starts, so hopefuly they play with two up front!
this too.
Another player to watch is Malouda, so when the season starts and Malouda plays rubbish football you can scratch your head and think "how can he be a complete GOAT at the Euros and suck so badly for Chelsea?"

The only outstanding game Malouda have ever played in a Chelsea shirt is the one against Everton in the FA Cup Final

Thats the one
He is overrated during Carlo's double. He scored only a few vital goals, and to give him credit, won us a couple of games, but when we had an average scoreline of 6-0 he really didnt do much.
Like some Chelsea fan said before; "he can extend a lead, but can't get us one"
Shame there aren't reports of him moving away before the end of the 2013 season

Same here.. not much on Anelka tbh.. but Malouda cos he is the main reason why Zhirkov was never able to get proper playing time in Chelsea. I still believe that Zhirkov was the better player out of the two... and he would have been very useful in the last season..

On Anellka AVB made alot of bad decisions at Chelsea, but letting Anelka go was one of the worst, he was an ideal squad player imo
