Is he going to start for Ukraine?I really hope he goes out with a bang...

I hope he does, i like to watch him play although i only get to watch him when hes with the NT. I thought i read somewhere that Ukraine have a young up-and-coming striker though so if thats true he could eat into Shevas minutes.

I hope so to, always have loved Sheva and would love for him to go out with a bang. He is capable of it.

He honestly said that Ukraine can make the final. Does anyone here even remotely agree???? I know he's being optimistic and there's nothing at all wrong with that, especially being a host nation but still.....

I predict that either Ukraine or Sweden will make it out of Group D at the expense of France or England.

Shevchenko to go into AC Milan beast-mode. He is still the captain of the NT, so surely he will start. He's in my EURO dream-team too.

no he wont start, he is being benched by their coach and only makes sub appearances

he's my childhood hero. I love him with all my heart and i wish him the best. He said his focus has been on this competition for a long time. He's too old atm, nothing more than a decorated player with a presence that can help boost the team's confidence. Even so, it's slowly vanishing. Hopefully Sheva can make me proud once again! and perhaps, the last time in a major competition

What I mean is that either that one of France or England will not make it out of the group. If France don't make it out, it doesn't mean that England will necessarily get top spot. Anyway, all this pessimism about England's chances might be the biggest reverse-jinx ever.

Sheva was always a great asset for Ukraine and that won't change this time either . I think he has already said he will retire after the Euros , so he will give everything he has in his last games .

He'll go out with a bang for sure , i just hope it won't be like Zidane's bang lol .

I just hope he scores a wonder goal... Even if they go out of the competition at any stage..

hoping he does well, but i know he will do well if he stays fit. he'll always be a class player

remember watching him a lot in Budapest when I was younger and they showed Milan games a ton. Holy shiet, what a player he was, one of the best strikers i've ever watched

one of those rare strikers who makes a goal out of absolutely nothing

He's going to start that's a given he's their leader and captain .

Shevchenko .. showed glimpses of the past last night , brilliant . I enjoyed both his goals . I am glad for Andriy , once again .

Shevchenko officially retires from football to join Politics..

Former Milan hero Andriy Shevchenko has announced his retirement from football in order to go into politics.

He follows in the footsteps of another ex-Rossoneri man, Kakha Kaladze, who hung up his boots this summer to become a politician in his native Georgia.

"Perhaps, I will shock everyone: my future has nothing to do with soccer," Shevchenko wrote in a statement on the Dynamo Kiev website. "It is related to politics."

Sheva was at Milan from 1999 to 2006, though he returned briefly in January 2009 on loan from Chelsea.

With the Rossoneri he won a Scudetto, Champions League, European Super Cup, Coppa Italia, Italian Super Cup and the Ballon d’Or.
