I am sure Marcelo is going to get a huge tongue lashing for this. Ronaldo has been literally been campaigning for the Ballon this year, I scored more goals,I won the league,If I do well in Euros I might win & so on. Every week you hear some I want to win the Ballon statement.

I dont think he will be very happy to hear this. Expect more Coentrao is great defender , best LB in the world,should start for Madrid & finally Coentrao should start for Madrid

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo called teammate Marcelo yesterday to assure him he wasn't offended by the Brazilian's remarks in the USA.

Marcelo claims he was mistranslated when declaring Barcelona ace Lionel Messi as the "best in the world".

He immediately went to Twitter, to say: "They have misinterpreted what I said. Messi was the last to receive the Ballon d'Or, but for me, no doubt, the best is Cristiano and this will not ruin my friendship with him. I am 100% CR7."

Ronaldo called his young teammate last night, says AS, to calm the situation down: "Marcelo, no problem. I believe you, you're my friend. Do not give importance. We are friends and we will not waste a minute on this."

Freudian slip.

Marcelo is CR's brother he can say what he wants. Even then he never said he thought Messi was the best

I really doubt Ronaldo called Marcelo to tell him there still friends.

I"m sure Marcelo knows that and by saying that Messi is the better player which is pretty much the consensus around the world especially in South America where he is would be the most shallow reason to stop being friends with some one and call me crazy but I don't think Ronaldo is that Shallow.

I also don't think Marcelo would act very well to that phone call as he is a good player in his own right who is a millionaire starting for Brazil and doesn't hang on every word CR7 says.

It's like Barkley and Jordan. Barkley says what ever is on his mind and he's called Jordan a horrible GM a million times, there still great friends.

Marcelo doesn't need CR7's approval to say what he wants nor do I think CR7 thinks that he should have any control over what Marcelo says.

This is like 12 year old girl stuff.
