Padoin targets Juventus XI

Simone Padoin is looking to break into the first team plans of Juventus boss Antonio Conte next season.

The midfielder joined the Turin giants in January from Atalanta, but he was only used in six Serie A games and one Coppa Italia tie.

“We’ll be in the Champions League next season and that is the biggest stage you want to play on,” he told Sport Orobici.

“My hope is that I’ll be able to step on to the pitch with a bit more regularity in order to give the best of myself.

“I know that I was criticised for leaving Atalanta and that was legitimate,” he continued. “However, the train for a big club arrived and I had to get on it.

“Juventus will give me the opportunity to improve and offer me the chance to win some trophies.”

Padoin, 28, had played in 19 League games for the Nerazzurri this term before his Turin switch at the start of this year.

He wasn't bad in the shots he got for Juve he actually was pretty good and I have to say his crosses are wicked sick always on target

I think he is a very solid midfielder, no noticeable weaknesses. Just not of the same quality as Marchisio, Vidal and Pirlo.

Great squad player but I don't think he'll crack the starting 11

he might with so many games that we have next season ... He certainly deserves a shot

Absolutely, that's what I mean when I say squad player. He'll be rotated in and play more than this season.

But when selecting Juventus' strongest 11, assuming no injuries. He isn't in it.

I agree but still I hope he surprises ,... tbh I am amazed how well he was doing on the LM ...and he has great tech

Padoin is threatened by the arrival of Poul Pogba and the rest of our youth players. When Pogba arrive he will have first team chances as he would have had that with Manchester United. Padoin is targeting first team football, meaning he is ready to fight Pogba for it. That's what he's saying..

Something that we should be happy with, he is willing to fight and earn spot not just to get it as bonus. He is not like Pazzienza. He had 3 apps,1 goal and 87 Pass completion plus his crosses are *bleep* crazy

I am really happy to read this, it just shows how people want to fight for the team and want to do everything they can to win this shirt, that is the best quality a team can have

Of course your not my enemy, just expressing my view.

Idk, so far he has looked good enough to be a squad player at the least, and is versatile enough to cover many positions. Seems a worthy squad player thus far.

He would be a great signing for Siena and Bologna, as you say worthy squad player.
