Lyon win CL again!

Lyon women side won the CL for the second time in a row.

they beat Frankfurt 2-0 in Germany, with a record 48000 crowd.

they pretty much walk the competition and smashed everyone.

Lyon > Barca

Yeah, I watched the match. Very good job by the OL ladies! Congrats!

1.FFC Frankfurt now lost the DFB Pokal against Bayern and the CL against OL. As they only reached the 4th place of the Bundesliga, they won't play in Europe next season. But maybe OL will meet Turbine Potsdam (current German champion) for a rematch then!

Yup. OL vs Potsdam is an ongoing duel. Potsdam won the 2009/10 CL Final against OL, then OL won the 2010/11 CL Final against Potsdam. This CL Semi they defeated Potsdam comprehensively 5:1 in Lyon and drew 0:0 in the second leg in Potsdam.

The women teams are cooler. Razz

Umeå IK won consecutive CLs in 2002/03 and 2003/04, too.
BTW, Arsenal LFC are CL winners, too. Looks like the guys should take an example in them.

The Arsenal LFC aren't just CL winners they are also Premier League champs 8 years in a row... 10 times since 2001.... and lets not forget all the FA cup and other cups which they dominate...

The Bayern Ladies won the DFB-Pokal this year, thus they were also better than the guys cup-wise this season. (Although they still have to catch up in other areas as Turbine Potsdam and FFC Frankfurt are the big numbers in Germany).

Breaking news - there is a female World Cup and Europe Cup, too Razz

Well, dunno if there is a proper Spanish league, though. The top leagues in women football are probably Sweden, Germany, and USA (even though the latter had to be recreated at least once or twice), then England and France, In the latter two there is mainly one strongly dominant team with OL and Arsenal, although these two teams are *really* good.

Oh, there was at least one Spanish team in the CL this season, Rayo Vallecano, but they were defeated by Arsenal in the last 16.
