If we win the CL

Will this season be considered our greatest ever? Trophy wise it would obviously be our greatest as our next best was 09/10 where we did the double.

If we do win it this team would go down in history, it's not our best team by far but would they be remembered as one of the great Chelsea squads?

Definitely.

And to think that a lot of the squad members are "new" compared to the rest of the squad(e.g Mata, Cahill, Meireles, etc).

They'll be remembered forever LOL. I really hope they can pull it off.

It's funny to think our worst squad in a decade could be remembered as our best European team.

I suppose fans who watched them this season will know differently but future fans won't.

The best cup team, yes.

But the overall greatest ever? No.

For me, it's a close call between Jose's & Ancelotti's double winning sides. I'd choose Mourinho's team for the double winning season since the CL performances were good as well unlike Ancelotti

We weren't the underdogs and people knew we'd win. I loved receiving hate from rival fans and the confidence we had was amazing.

Absolutely not, always have felt that you need to be more lucky then good to win the CL.

I would say almost every team in the last decade has been better.

Who cares??? If we win I will be in tears and laughter and just crazy happy for weeks on end lol..

We aint the best team in England and have declined since Mourinho but with youngsters brought in, plus Mata & Ramirez and Co and maybe few more big names coming in we can be a big force next year or in a few seasons time. One thing we have over other teams in the world is passion, determination and concentration when we are down and out, this we showed since AVB and hope it stays because the four front of this were the old guard.

PS: Just hope we keep RDM or bring in Guardiola. I just hate seeing managers come and go and no stability or relationship since Mourinho.

Winning CL would just make Chelsea's season less disastrous IMO.
Being sixth in the league for Chelsea is just... disastrous. (past coaches got fired just for getting second)
Just my thoughts, I don't have european success as an obsession, I rather win the league

CL trumps whatever league achievement. I'd take a CL trophy every year over winning the league.

And tell me, when was the last time we arrived sixth? And the money we spent that time is nothing compared to this season (players and coach) and the distance to the first 2 is abysmal for the recent history of our club
While for the CL, it would be very nice winning the first title, but winning it does not show who is the better team while winning the championship does

While for the CL, it would be very nice winning the first title, but winning it does not show who is the better team while winning the championship does

I dont think this will go down as THE GREATEST in the club history tbh. even if we win the CL. And I dunno, I would prefer the league if we are planning to end up 6th for CL. 4th and CL is fine.. but below 4th place is just not acceptable and too risky.

No.
I just said winning the CL would not compensate, the fact that we did not only not win the league but even finished sixth with 35 points away from the first two. But it's only me prefering domestic league rather than the CL because it reflects more the values of the teams, I'm pretty sure that the most of the Chelsea fans prefer to win the CL

If we win this year it would be sort of like 2006 italys truimph i beleive.everyone knows this team is miles of our double winning team that went out unfairly against barca.

I change my mind this is the greatest Chelsea season. This season has been magical, may not be the most talented team. But the determination and spirit of this team made it special.

Magical, yes sir! Best.. still no.
Most hard working? Most prolly...
Most dramatic.. yes
Most successful? Next season.. trust me.. next season we win everything possible!

we could win 7 trophies next season....

I feel this team is not the best but the core will be remembered.

all winning CL has done has solidified Drogba, Cole, Cech, Lampard and Terry's place among our greatest ever players. I imagine from now on they will all without a doubt be in our all time XI.
