Hope is a mofo'
It kicks you in the nuts when you're not expecting to have any of it.
Words can't begin to describe how gutted I am. I feel like I just had a nightmare... So heartbreaking.
We'll be back next year. With Vidic back and 3 or 4 good signings, we'll get our title back next season.
They spent 930 mill in 3 years just to scrape the league title on GD this year.

I was *bleep* heartbroken. We didn't deserve the tittle...somewhat true, BUT they didn't either.
Seriously....
I will pray to god everyday until SAF realize that we can't just ride our luck and experience forever....
Get some new signings ffs

Re: Hope is a mofo'
After finally calming my emotions...what a frigging great season that must have been for the neutrals around the world. That ending today defies belief.
Both Manchester teams did the league credit by taking it down to the very last minute. I have never experienced drama of that magnitude before.
Like I said above, hope nearly destroyed my heart today. I would have preferred City to smash QPR and get it over and done with. Just that last 3 mins when the unthinkable was on the verge of happening. The biggest miracle in English league history was only 30 secs from occuring......THEN......boom. Fate and hope played the biggest prank on United fans. for the last 3 hours I couldn't stop thinking about it...non stop it was on my mind. Me contemplating a bunch of what ifs, my mind racing back and fourth.
It was truly gut wrenching. The worse feeling I've ever had as United fan....bar none.
All because of a feeling we had absolutely no right in having today. HOPE! A team with the worst away record were 5 mins away from beating the team with best home record.
Hope was given to us, then cruelly snatched away from us.
Football can be a **** sometimes.

Them winning the league is deserved imo, I am of the opinion that if you can not beat them at least once in the league, then goal difference or not, you do not deserve being called champion.
What I absolutely hate though is how they won it. A 5-0 win would have pleased me, but this, 2 goals in stoppage time ?! They will now have a ludicrously strong mental coming into next season and don't bet against them winning a lot of games in this manner from now on.

Actually we now know how many, many, many opposition fans feel. We're usually the specialist of scoring injury time winners/equalisers lol.

A lot of our games had been the wonder of giggy, scholes late winners.
1-0 scrap. That's how we had 8 pts above city

You need to give our squad more credit, bro
We deserved to be 8 points clear. We went on an amazing run where we beat Arsenal (a) Drew v Chelsea (a) beat Spurs (a) beat LFC (h). We went on an incredible run of like 10 or 11 straight wins.
What fcked us over was complacency. Players thinking Wigan away was 3 points in the bag, and then switching off for the last 8 mins v Everton.
I do agree with you in the fact that a large part of our displays last season were far from impressive..

Let's say that the game against Wigan was hard to win.But the home game vs Everton had to be easy.We had 3-1 and 4-2 and we still didn't win the match. There, we've lost the title.

2 games comes to mind that destroyed our title hopes.
1) The Blackburn defeat at home. Rafael as a CM Carrick having to play as a cb again, plus DDG's costly mistake at the end cost us valuable points. We muster only a draw from that game and we would have been champions.
2) Everton at home. Everyone knows how we effed that one up.
and for good measure...
3) The Penalty that never was v Newcastle at home. Cost us a win...but oh well.

This.
Also, given the number of points we had near the end of this season (at one point leading eight or so) it was really baffling that we somehow bottled it. It's like LeBron James owning up the first three quarters of a game then all of a sudden disappears at the final quarter.
I also see no valid excuse that SAF can make at this point (since we were out of all the cup competitions) , so I'll definitely piss myself with the excuse that is, "we screwed up".

Giving up that 8 point lead is what makes me so bitter tbh. It is so unlike United.
The hunger just wasn't there tbh.
But that last day heartache, and the way Sunderland celebrated our downfall will spur the players on next season.
I am already looking forward to next season. Our younger players have come through a great learning curve and will be better, Vidic will be back, better luck with injuries, a couple of good reinforcements and we will be back competing for major honours.

Re: Hope is a mofo'
Anyway, at least we ended up level on points and were just beaten on goal difference unlike some other club sitting on 8th and celebrating as if they've won the EPL (not) against Swansea. :vagi:
Same issue though. We need a midfield. Then we can smash everyone's behinds again.

Re: Hope is a mofo'
am i the only one thinking that next season will be a bitch with other rejuvenated top teams :I
less time to experiment, as well as formulating the right choices.
I really want united to snatch up sneijder, although i think it will likely not going to happen due to his injury proness, as well as current form.
But hey, everyone can dream. Seeing my most fav player in red certainly would be cool

Re: Hope is a mofo'
No Sneijder please. He's too old now. We've been linked to both Hazard and Kagawa but I think Hazard will go to City and Kagawa is in serious discussions with SAF.

Re: Hope is a mofo'
but sneijder is currently my most favorite player T_T
If SAF do it just for me, i'd stan him decades after his death...
But yea, unrealistic as *bleep* now.
I blame Raenerie for ruin sneijder's form this season. *bleep* just keep playing 4-4-2 when we had no true winger >.<

Re: Hope is a mofo'
This season has already been forgotten about. The signs were there from the start, but Fergie wasn't dominant enough, hence it took us long to sort our midfield problem, in January where we recalled Scholes. We still need to buy a play maker, but obviously it's hard to find the right target. Kagawa isn't a central midfield; he's an attacking midfielder, but he would be an instant hit in Europe, in our usual formation, playing behind Rooney/Welbeck, or playing in the hole (in a 4-3-3).
