Giorgio Chiellini. No doubt about it. Along with Bonucci, Barzagli, and Buffon, they have easily the best defensuve record in Europe. Have only let in more than 1 goal in 2 league games this season. A beast in the center of defense. Best in the world no doubt in my opinion.

Chiellini and Vidic in my opinion.They are the only central defenders I've ever seen annihilating Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Silva and Kompany, Chielini and Stuby not bad at all imo. Don't get the hate though.

Have to agree with this on both counts.

Barzagli has been better as CB this season than Chiellini.

Pique's season hasn't been anywhere near as good as his last season was.

That's because Chiellini has split time between CB and LB, and Chiellini has still been Juventus' best defender.

Barzagli had an incredible season too.

Nobody has been standout best CB for me this season..

Its b/w Silva Kompany and Chiellini/Barzagli imo.

But i reckon more often that people rank defender based on talent hence Barzagli falls in the underrated category.

Agreed.Pique is weak, i'd rather choose Puyol if we're talking about this season. Chiellini and Barzagli are at the same level. Maybe this season Barzagli had more interceptions but he has not been more important for the defence. Chiellini is at least as good as Andrea.
