Battle for CL spot on again?
The gunners will be looking to secure third place after their shock defeat to Wigan and a draw to Chelsea at home. Arsenal has only won 2 of their 5 premier league fixtures. Newcastle is nipping at their heels with just 3 points behind Arsenal with a game in hand. Newcastle have however got tough fixtures left but they have done great this season and one wouldn’t be surprised if they do survive those though fixtures.
With having said that, Chelsea has surprised everyone by surviving Barcelona and making to final. Should Chelsea wins the champions league then the 4th place in premier league will lose its CL spot to Chelsea.
Stoke City spiritless
Stoke City have only won 1 of their last 7 Premier league matches and that too against relegated Wolves. They have only won 4 of last 18 league matches.
Match facts (Opta)
*Arsenal have recovered more points from losing positions than any other team in the top flight this season (19).
*The Potters have scored the highest percentage of goals from set pieces in the Premier League (63%), while the Gunners have netted the lowest proportion (13%).
*Four of the last five meetings between Stoke and Arsenal in all competitions have ended with a 3-1 scoreline.
*Stoke have won three of their last four home matches in all competitions against Arsenal .
*Peter Crouch has scored six Premier League goals against Arsenal; he’s only netted more against Blackburn ( 8 ) in the competition.
*After receiving a red card in his first league appearance against Stoke, Robin van Persie has scored five goals in the three subsequent Premier League outings against the Potters.
*There were four goals from just five shots on target in the reverse meeting at the Emirates Stadium.
*38% of the goals Stoke have scored have been netted from headers, the highest proportion in the Premier League.
*Arsenal have conceded just five headed goals, the joint-fewest in the top flight.
*Robin van Persie has fired in 63 shots on target from inside the penalty area, two more than the entire Stoke team.

Great preview friend..
We cant afford any more slips..
And if Chelski win CL.. Still have a spot only if they make european qualification..? So if they finish 6th they wont get a spot even if they win CL ?

And i think we must start Gervinho on left, Ox on right and Diaby in mid.. May even consider Benayoun in left.. And i will go with Santos for this match..

Re: Stock City vs Arsenal Preview
Djoe excellent job, I am sure RG and Sam are proud of you.
We dont have room for mistakes here, we have been poor past couple of games and we must finish our chances.
RVP must score, would be really disappointing if RVP does not win the golden boot.
Stoke are tough team and this year we have shown we can be as tough as any team and I hope we can at least leave with a point. Ramsey must step up and I believe he will score in this game and I can see a Stoke player get red carded.
I think we can win the game and a 2-1 win would be a great win.

If Chelsea win they will get the 4th spot and who ever finishes 4th will lose the spot to Chelsea and I would have a heart attack if they win and we screw up and finish 4th.

Re: Stock City vs Arsenal Preview
Great work man.
we havent done ourselves any good and its must win now
it seems Diaby is not ready to start again
and Ramsey will get Booed by their *Bleep* fans
Yossi's experience is key as is Gervinho's pace and Trickery against their slow fullbacks more like makeshift center backs
also yossi's defensive work (last year arshavin conceded foul led to their 1st goal)
i would start santos over Gibbs to add more muscle as well
though they would start shotton in full back
our even add another midfielder in center to break our rythm
still think delap Throw-ins are more dangerous
we dealt with them well at home
but here width of the pitch is
just to troll them i hope verm score from sagna's throw in
as i mentioned already its key to score first goal
or we will see a team playing even deeper to stop us creating
though seeing some the chances/goals they have conceded
long ranges could have been an option and no Arteta
their crowd are sick seeing this S**t played week in week out but will be up for it
Their home Record vs top teams is quite good
i hope our players don't get provoked and start complaining from the start and
show real character and strength
Come On You Gunners

pennant is doubt and may not start with virus
if etherington moved to right and walters on the left (similar to reverse fixture)it would be better for us

Re: Stock City vs Arsenal Preview
Stoke have the worst scoring record in the Premier League having only scored 32, which is just five more than Van Persi.
As much as I want RVP to start and score goals, I would not mind staring Chamackh and bring on RVP in second half.

Re: Stock City vs Arsenal Preview
Stoke are an awful team..... stick to your usual game plan and you will batter them.
Also dont make any special plans theres no point your just falling into thier hands.
Stick to your usual way of playing and you will win 3 or 4-0.
Never understood this hype behind Stoke, they are truly awful.

I would like to say that also. The problem being is that 5 goals is probably real close to the amount of goals we have with RVP NOT on the pitch.

i agree with this, but i hate that i have to. we shouldn't have to put RvP out there every single game. we need goalscorers

Great work Djoe you pro
RVP's had a week of rest and only 3 remaining fixtures this season. This is arguably our toughest of the 3 so benching him would be a bad bad idea, especially for Chamakh. If we're leading by 2+ goals then he can come on with 20 minutes to go.

We need to show the ugliness in our team in this game , so i believe that Santos should start ahead of gibbs and Coquelin ahead of Ramsy

Re: Stock City vs Arsenal Preview
If you're going to say that, you might as well also say that we haven't scored a single goal without Szczesny on the pitch, or we haven't conceded a single goal without him either. RVP's started so many games this season that you just can't say that.6unner wrote:Raptorgunner wrote:Stoke have the worst scoring record in the Premier League having only scored 32, which is just five more than Van Persi.
