The Roman Family
Hello all,
Welcome to the new Roma forums!
My name is Neal. I'm 22 and from the United States.
I've been Romanista for almost 12 years, starting from 1999. I've only been to a few Roma games, but I hope to see more and more importantly for us to get back our former glory.
Please feel free to post here and introduce yourself as you become members of the Roman Family!
Benevenuto!

Re: The Roman Family
Copied from the old forum, posted a year ago.
"Hey guys, I just realized that even though I've been posting here for a while, I never properly introduced myself. So my name is Michael and I'm Canadian, though I'm of Italian origin. I'm entering my last year of college.
I've been a Roma fan for a long time. Football for me isn't just a hobby, but a passion, a lifestyle as it is for many of you here. My favorite player, of course, is Totti. Then guys like De Rossi and Montella are up there as well. Totti is actually the main reason i started watching Roma. At first, about 10 years ago, I was only able to follow the national team. Totti was always my favorite player. Eventually I started watching Roma and quickly became a big fan. It's strange because the year I started following in depth was the year we had 5 coaches (one of our worst seasons this decade). There was just something about the team that captured me; something in my mind that seperated us from the other big teams. Years later, I'm a bigger fan than ever and can't wait for the new season to start. Sempre Forza Roma!"
Just some small updates: College is all done and now on to University. As for Montella being one of my favourites, that's still true though of course my view of him has changed over the past few months. Having the Aeroplanino as a manager took some getting used to and it was strange to see at first; it seems like just yesterday he was bagging in goals along with Il Capitano... The King of Rome, who gets younger by the day and just keeps getting better and better.
Anyways, it's nice to be here. I'm still getting used to everything...

Re: The Roman Family
Hey guys,
My names Matt, I'm 24 years old, and am I die hard Romanista, and Menezista as you all know.(hehe) I'm born and raised Central Albertan.
I am a Italian Citizen by blood right Jure Sanguinis, but I've never been to Italy yet.(I have cousins in Ostia). I'm hoping to see a game this year, hopefully the Derby della Capitale.
Might as well throw in a bit more info about myself...
Well, I've played Guitar since Junior High, and like to work on Vintage Cars. I only watch one other sport and that's Hockey (Calgary Flames). As far as music goes, I pretty much like everything from Classic Country (Johnny Cash, Hank Williams) to Techno (Armin van Buuren/A&B) . Although my favorite group of all time is Oasis.
On another note, over the past 2 years on this forum and Goal.com I have looked forward on a daily basis to read all the posts from you guys. There is probably more active English Roma forums online, but I think we have far more high quality posters here. I'm happy that we continued on with this, and I'm glad all of you made it.
Hopefully I can continue to try and make valuable contributions like all you guys do.
GoalLegacy is basically my one stop shop for Roma.
Thanks guys!

Re: The Roman Family
^^^ Nicely put bro
If you do go to the derby this coming season make sure you go when Roma are the home team for safety reasons and plus it's more likely to end in a Roma win ...
Or try and make it when Roma have a Europa lge home game on the Thursday and the home game on the Sunday..

^^ Hey thanks for the advice Dave. That's a good idea with the EL game also , you would get to hit up two games in less then a week! That would be awesome.

Re: The Roman Family
copied/pasted this from the intros because i'm a lazy prick
hi, i'm new here. i've been searching for a "mature" football chat forum. there are way too many trolls at the EA and playmaker forums
i was impressed by level of activity on this forum. and a lot of serie A fans here i see, which is good
i support AS Roma wholeheartedly and AC Sienahalfheartedlyquarterheartedly. i started getting into football when i lived in Germany so naturally i support Bundesliga as a league, but i dont root for any particular team (i just root against Bayern).
i live in New York now, but I've lived in germany, romania, serbia, and estonia beforehand. i was born in portugal. i dont root for any particular national teams although i do "favor" die nationalmannschaft and the azzurri
my English is not that good because I've only been living here 7 yrs. but my german isnt that much better because i only lived there 6 years also! ... i'm half italian half german, but my father never bothered teaching me italian i know bits and pieces of other languages, but my best tongue is in English and German
i suppose you can call me a gloryhunter since i have no real reason to support Roma (my father's ancestors are all Ravennati). but it's not easy trying to follow a Serie D team if you dont live in Italy. and again, i cant read italian, which also makes it harder to follow them. bologna is the nearest "big" club to ravenna but our family hates everything about bologna. so i started supported roma in 00/01 when they won the scudetto, and i've been following them since
there's that. and i hope to get to know a lot of you better, especially those on the Serie A section

Juventus 100%, though I support Roma as my second favorite team, I have the utmost respect for the club, of it's players, it's history, it's loyalty. Most of all it's pride about Italian brands like Diadora and Kappa, it's colors are great. But through all of it, is the respect I have between the Romanisti on this forum. That being the main guys Fonz, Mike(Erpurpone) and Mclewis
