Werder Bremen
Will Bayern rotate everyone vs. Werder?
It's the only way I can see you holding Madrid, if all Bayern players are fresh and we tire Madrid players a lot in the weekend.
Will Juup rotate everyone, or will he be as stupid as to play many starters as he did the game before?

Re: Werder Bremen
To begin with it's not the only way we can hold Madrid, from what I saw yesterday we can maybe even beat Madrid in Spain.
Yeah I agree with it will be a great ideal to rotate our players, but then again we have to try and avoid heavy defeat against Bremen as this may have some effect on our play. I expect players like Ribery and Robben to be fully rested, Gomez should start as this match can serves as shooting practice for him, he missed about 3 chances against Madrid.
Madrid fullbacks looked really weak, weaker than I thought, with Madrid having to come out to attack, so therefore pushing fullbacks up and maybe even Mashpotato starting as Rightback, I expect fully rested Robben to do much more damage, Ribery as usual will destroy Arbaloa once more especially since he will not get much help from Di Maria or Kaka, whoever plays. I expect Robben Ribery to drift and change position every now and then, it is even more joy to watch when Muller/Ribery/Robben drift position, difficult to man mark, it might be a good ideal to start Muller...
Expected line-up.
-----------------Neuer---------------------
Rafinha--Boateng--Badstuber--Contento
You don't want to disrupt cb partnership, Badstuber and Boateng must play with each other consistently so as to have better understanding.
---------------Tymo------Schweinsteiger-----------
Although I feel Tymo can do a great job against Madrid but it is too risky to try him after that performance Gustavo delivered, Gustavo must be rested for 2nd leg and Schweinsteiger must gain match fitness back as soon as possible.
Olic-----------------Muller---------------Pranjic
muller is an important player for us, but he's deep in form and this kind of matches can help him maybe rediscover his form before coming up against Madrid, you never know maybe Olic could have scored 2 out of the chances wasted by Gomez but nevertheless He could be useful in the 2nd leg, Pranjic is pretty much a Rotational player.
--------------------------Gomez-----------------------
Gomez must play so as to rediscover his shooting boots and perfect his shooting accuracy and passing ahead of Madrid in Spain, nevertheless Petersen should replace him.
Subs.
Petersen for Gomez after 45 Munite.
Usami in for Schweini after 65 Munite, Pranjic to DM and Olic to LW.
Kroos in for Muller in 76 Munite, Muller needs some rest as he has a major part to play in Spain.

Re: Werder Bremen
That would be nice, quite aplenty of rest for important players. However, don't you think Schweinsteigger should also rest. Going vs. Madrid completely rested could help him, he was quite invisible vs. them.
I agree with you that the CB can play, they run the least of any field player, and Gomez, Kroos and Muller playing some minutes will not tire them.
What is the press saying in Germany? Will Juup rotate heavily vs. werder?
I don't think a huge loss would affect your morale at all, Bayern is completely out of the race and shouldn't care moraly if they win or lose a game in the league, whichever the result.

Re: Werder Bremen
Schweinsteiger sorely needs match practice. He was nearly invisible because he was out injured for so long and thus he just isn't back in the playing rhythm yet.
Well, the press doesn't say too much as far as I saw. I expect Heynckes to play a similar team as against Mainz.
This was the line-up against Mainz: Neuer - Rafinha, Boateng, Badstuber , Contento - Tymoshchuk, Schweinsteiger - Robben, Müller, Alaba - Olic
Heynckes has to replace Badstuber, I just noticed - the boy got his 5th yellow in the Mainz match. I guess Tymo might play CB then, Alaba CM and Pranjic on the left wing.

Re: Werder Bremen
Schweini to play 60 mins or so, the rest of the team can rest. Tymo to CB alongside Boateng. Very similar lineup to the Mainz match.
Madrid will be battered after going against Barca and the physical advantage is important. I want Schweini to last 90 mins as usual. He clearly could have lasted longer in the first leg, but I guess Heynckes was thinking long term as he should. The league's over, sadly. Dortmund über alles.
So all focus should go to the CL and Pokal. If we get to the final we can beat anyone, even Barca.

Re: Werder Bremen
Rumenigga already said that Bayern will face Real Madrid "well-rested", which probably was his way of accidentally admitting they'll rest as many players as possible against Werder.
Expect to see no Gomez, no Robbery, no Kroos, probably no Lahm... Schweinsteiger will very likely play because of match practice, I reckon.

Re: Werder Bremen
Alaba, Lahm, Robben and Ribery must be rested..............
Gustavo/Kroos must be rested as well, Badstuber will automatically get a rest.
Contento is as good as Alaba and very soon he will prove it to you all.
If Vargas is coming to Bayern, then we dont have to give fiorentina Contento, maybe on loan, that will really help.
Vargas can cover for Ribery and Alaba, Shaqiri for Robben, Rafinha for Lahm, when Contento returns from a season long loan it will be.
GK: Neuer/Gomez
RB: Lahm/Rafinha
LB: Contento/Alaba
RW: Ribery/Vargas
LW: Robben/Shaqiri
CB: Dante/DVB/Boateng/Badstuber
DM: Gustavo/Tymo
CM: Emre Can/Schweini
AM: Muller/Kroos
CF: Gomez/Lewandowski
That's complete depth.

Re: Werder Bremen
You realize that Lewandowski is closer to Müller than Gomez stylewise and would utterly fail at Bayern unless they change the entire way they play offense? :X

Re: Werder Bremen
Lewandowski is a Centre Forward who played as SS last season as a result of injuries, he's nothing like Muller. He can hold the ball more than Gomez but that doesn't make him more of Muller than Gomez.
Lewandowski will suite out style of Play, because he can play as SS alongside Gomez or play as CF while Muller play as SS, we need a top striker like Lewandowski in matches where Gomez fail, when we need to retain possession as much as we can.
Muller-----------------------------------Ribery
---------Lewandowski(SS)--------------------
----------------------------Gomez(CF)---------
This will be difficult to defend against.

Kroos will some times need to be rested, especially when we play against weaker teams. In the scenario above, Tymo and Schweini/Gustavo will have to play as DM.
Re: Werder Bremen
Now that's an interesting line-up ^^
Neuer
Rafinha - Tymoshchuk - Luiz Gustavo - Contento
Schweinsteiger - Pranjic
Usami - Müller - Olic
Petersen
Bench: Butt (Tor), Boateng, Ribery, Robben, Alaba, Kroos, Gomez
Who says Bayern has a bad bench?

Re: Werder Bremen
True, which ain't bad at all but there was still Schweinsteiger playing at least. And Neuer.
And Müller
I loved the Tymo-Gustavo CB partnership It was so bad, it was good.
