England's hero John Terry to break Alves in half after which he will subsitute himself for future goat Cahill to finish the job.

Dani speaks the truth, Chelsea lost coz of fear. C'mon you guys had a man advantage after the Abidal sending off, but what did scaredy cat Hiddink do? He substituted his main goal threat Drogba for a DEFENDER with a measly one goal advantage at HOME. Tell me what that mean?
Barca was on the freaking ropes after Abidal's dismissal ffs...

"There is no doubt that was the hardest game we've played, but a team with a man advantage playing at home and winning should have attacked us more.
"People say Chelsea should have won but for the referee, but that is not our problem. We were there to play football, to compete and try to get to the final. Chelsea did not reach the final because of fear."
Sounds about right to me.

Doesnt matter if what the person said was true or correct if a Barça player says something he is automatically a c*nt in Barrettinators book
I agree with what Alves said, fear and Iniesta.

Ovrebo is a legend in Catalonia ... and Alves is a retard if he thinks Chelsea didnt attack enough ... there wouldnt have been so many ungiven penalties have they not attacked , the scared one was definetily Alves as you could barely see him on the field in that game :lol!:

He says Chelsea lost in 09 because they didn't attack Barcelona when they were most vulnerable, which has always been the feeling of the Barca players. Had Chelsea attacked more Barca's 10-player team would have probably being able to cope less with it.

Re: Dani Dives: "Chelsea lost in 2009 because of fear"
Don't see how anything he said is wrong.Talk of being "scared" leads to the 2009 semi-final that casts such a shadow over this clash. Why did Chelsea lose? Alves's answer is direct: "fear." "There's no doubt that was the hardest game we've played," he says. "People say Chelsea would have won but for the referee, but what can we do about that? I think that [in 2009], Chelsea didn't reach the final because of fear. The team that has got a man more, at home, winning 1-0, should have attacked us. Chelsea lacked the courage to take a step forward. Instead, they took a step back and they paid for it. When we saw they were not attacking us, we realised they had renounced the game. They were satisfied with 1-0, they were satisfied but forgot that at 1-1 we were through. All they did was get rid of the ball. They gifted us possession — and the worst thing you can do with Barcelona is give them possession."
Alves's discourse has come full circle. "Of course," he adds. "If you don't have that concept of football, that's what happens. Te quedas atrás, te quedás atrás, y te quedas fuera. [The rough translation runs: You go back, you go back, you go out.] You can never stay back. You can't! You have to go forward. Stay back: losers. Go forward: winners." Now, that is something Dani Alves could put on that business card.

Alves is just trolling hard, the posession bit gives him away.
Chelsea lost because someone, somewhere made a pact with Ovrebo. I can't even begin to see how this is a "debate", anyone that watched that match shouldn't either.

The level of shittiness displayed was too much for a high level UEFA ref to show.
No, you cannot convince me Ovrebo was twice clinically level retarded, especially how rampant match fixing is in actuality.

Re: Dani Dives: "Chelsea lost in 2009 because of fear"
Again this? The ref was plain and simple retarded.
If there was a pact, then Abidal would not have been red-carded. If there was a pact, Barcelona would have gotten a penalty for the Ballack "hand-ball" (pretty similar to the Busquets handball in the Levante game). If there was a pact, Barcelona would have buried the game in the first leg itself when there were calls against them.
No doubt Chelsea were robbed with some of the calls in the second leg, but what can Barcelona do about it? If Chelsea attacked when Abidal was sent-off, they would have won the tie. But, like Alves said, they did not. I dont think it was due to fear, because that was their strategy and they obviously found it difficult to shift gears at that point.
What is eesentially being said is, yes, the ref did influence the game, but if Chelsea attacked in that game in the last 20 minutes or so, those calls would not have mattered as they would have scored and won the tie. That is the main point.

Nothing to do with being a barca fan. I can tell you that's the way madridisatas think as well. Actually, i would go as far as saying that spanish football is oriented towards going forward, attacking always, moving the ball around. It's just a concept and an understanding of football that exists in Spain and the fact that barcelona kind of embodies that thinking better than the rest at the moment, means that they are the most voice-full about it. A Betis, Villarreal, or Madrid fan could have said the exact same thing.

I'm struggling to see how he's wrong.
You can blame the ref and all but at the end of the day Chelsea could have easily won or scored another goal once Barca were down.
They could have won despite the controversial ref, they just...didn't. They played a 10-0-0 instead.

At the end of the day it was Barca that finished with 10 men. Why Chelsea werent able to put the game away is no ones fault but Chelsea

I tend to agree, mainly due to the fact he also screwed Fiorentina big the following year.
btw we created more chances in the game.
