Will Leverkusen make Europe?
Hyypia took over early this month as a caretaker coach and has played two games since.
A 1-1 draw against Hamburg, and a 3-1 win over some Kaiserslaughter or something something.
He currently sits in the 6th spot which will get them Europa next season though, has the same points as Hannover on 44. I do feel he can pass Stuggart, but M'gladbach are too far away imo.
They simply can't afford not to make Europe.
Can Schürrle, Derdiyok, Keissling, Ballack and Bender influence the others to a top 6 finish?
Leverkusen are set to vs relegation fighters Hertha and then play away to HoffenBabel.
Opinions?

Re: Will Leverkusen make Europe?
A top 7 finish will get them to Europe. I really don't see them cathcing Stuttgart, they are just on fire at the moment and could catch BMG.
I think Leverkusen will make the europa league with Stuttgart/BMG and Werder Bremen.

Re: Will Leverkusen make Europe?
I thought you needed a coaching license to be able to manage a football club, how did Hypia get one o quickly.?
Re: Will Leverkusen make Europe?
Well the CL teams are pretty much decided, with BVB, Schalke and Bayern guaranteed group stages and BMG play-offs.
Bayern II should be managable but the Hoffenheim and Hannover matches will be crucial.
6 Teams looking at Europa League next year, but only 3 go through.
What's great is that there's plenty of 6 pointers that are going to happen in the last 4 days of the season:
Next matchday:
Stuttgart vs. Bremen
Matchday after that:
Hoffenheim vs. Leverkusen
2nd to last matchday:
Leverkusen vs. Hannover
Bremen vs. Wolfsburg
Final matchday:
Suttgart vs. Wolfsburg
Werder and Stuttgart both have a difficult fixture list and Hannover have by far the easiest set.
I can see Hannover and Leverkusen making it into Europe at the end of the season though and Stuttgart are on an incredible run lately so that should round up the last of the EL teams

I would like to see Hannover in Europe. Ron-Robert Zieler was amazing yesterday, too, btw. Werder are currently disintegrating (Tim Wiese is leaving, too), they would be a liability there.

That won't happen if Hyypia stays manager. :coffee:

He got one as soon as he retired and was a coach at Leverkusen.
He started as a caretaker as soon as the other guy was sacked. [No idea who it was. Know nothing about them, just as they always end up as the runners up. All changed with Hyypia there now. ]

Re: Will Leverkusen make Europe?
Sami Hyypiä has a Finnish A-License for coaching so far, that is, he is allowed to coach youth teams on his own. He is the team manager of Leverkusen ("Teamchef") since Robin Dutt was sacked. The "real" coach (with Pro-Licence aka "Fußball-Lehrer" in German) is Sascha Lewandowski, at least to make sure the DFB won't object. ^^

I think we will.
We need to blow it next week, though, against Hertha so that scum can fall to 17th.
