NHL Playoffs
Playoff hockey is a whole different animal. Soo much intensity in the games.
And the Philly - Pittsburgh series living up to the hype.
Philly 3-0 down at their biggest rivals, and coming back to win 4-3 in overtime

Speaking as a Penguins fan, angry at the first game but it is what I expected from the series tbh

geez the series between the Penguins and Flyers is intense, goals being scored like crazy and the penalty minutes were ridiculous today, hell even Crosby was throwing down

Re: NHL Playoffs
Philly have dominated the series, but if there's a team capable of a ridiuclous comeback, its the Pens.
Huge game for Vancouver tonight, a loss, and they're surely out. Not starting Luongo was an extremely interesting decision, especially considering he's done all he could to keep them in both games with some incredible saves.

*bleep* quick... 90 saves in two games...
schneider did well tbh... but this team desperately needs another scorer, noone apart from the sedins provides anything meaningful offensively...
at least we'll see crosby cry again

LA is doing incredibly good against canucks. so far the playoffs have not disappointed

Re: NHL Playoffs
LA's pwnage is not that surprising tbh. They had about nine or ten 1-0 losses and could have easily been 2nd or 3rd in the seedings.
They've also got probably the best attacking arsenal in the league. Carter, Richards, Brown, Kopitar, Gagne (injured), and are backed by the best goalie this year.
Obviously having one of the Sedin sisters out is a huge effect, but I didn't expect their offence to be this toothless.

Re: NHL Playoffs
tbh kings have a better team than canucks, only reason canucks won the president's is that they play in a shit division
canucks attack is utterly hopeless, fcking senators had more players with at least 60 points in the season
that's what you get when even your second line looks like a penalty kill setup... all the more tragic considering what kings "sacrificed" to get two great attacking centres - johnson, two nobodies and a draft pick...

Crosby makes the likes of Di Maria, Busquets, and Suarez look like H&R gentlemen.
He is honestly the biggest pussy in professional sports bar none...
The whole Pittsburgh team is a joke and a disgrace to be honest, but Crosby will always be Queen

Re: NHL Playoffs
I cannot believe the Flyers have been man-handling the Pens the way they have. The level of physical play in that series has been ridiculous. I knew it was exactly goign to be amicable, but good god.
The Sens Rangers series looks to be heating up a bit, too. I'm personally, hoping the Senators can get the advantage tonight, even without Alfie.

Re: NHL Playoffs
Hitting people without the puck, going after people's heads, slashing everything that moves, fighting 2v1, hitting guys already in a scrum with someone else in the back of the head, and picking fights only when the refs are in between you isn't physical play....its pathetic - they resorted to PULLING HAIR FFS. AND THEY EVEN WENT AFTER KIMMO F*CKING TIMMONEN! WHO THE HELL DOES THAT?!?
The Penguins couldn't play physical if they WANTED to, which is why they pull all this cheap pussy shit....Its really no surprise when you look at who their Captain/Queen is - he sets the example and they all follow

Re: NHL Playoffs
Incredible game between the Sens and Rangers. Lundqvist is a fecking monster
And going after Timonen was pretty soft, I was lolling at the Pens desperation. Philly have been good, but I expect my Rangers to do them in.

Re: NHL Playoffs
Wouldn't surprise me...as much as it pains me to say it the Rangers have pretty clearly had our number all season
Hopefully the momentum from this series carries into the next and takes us above and beyond all the problems we've had against them so far this year

Re: NHL Playoffs
It's been a real surprise to me, to be honest. Granted, I haven't watched much of the Pens this season, but I hadn't thought of them as a "dirty" team. Maybe, that's me not being real familiar with them of late.BhritanniaBhlue wrote:Hitting people without the puck, going after people's heads, slashing everything that moves, fighting 2v1, hitting guys already in a scrum with someone else in the back of the head, and picking fights only when the refs are in between you isn't physical play....its pathetic - they resorted to PULLING HAIR FFS. Anyone else been following the Phoenix/Chicago series? Seriously? 3 straight overtime games...? The 'Hawks leading the entire game until 3 goals were scored in 2 minutes of 4 vs. 4... Anymore more of this stuff and I'm gonna have an aneurysm.

Re: NHL Playoffs
Penguin's Asham (who is a dirty player) is banned for 4 games, Neal is out 1.
Yeah the Hawks-Coyotes series is being broadcast in my area, its been very entertaining. I couldn't believe the finish in game 2. Hossa going down is a big loss for them though. I also get the whole Blues series, being smack in the middle of St Louis and Chicago I get a lot of hockey games

Re: NHL Playoffs
Raffi Torres gets a 25 game ban for this hit on Marian Hossa:
Hossa ended up going to the hospital.
Torres will lose almost $22,000 for every match he misses too. Well deserved ban.

Re: NHL Playoffs
Torres's suspension was justified. We've seen so many dirty hits/games in this post season, it seems the league offices have simply become fed up with it. 25 games may be excessive, but there was no need to hit Hossa, much less jump in with the shoulder, aiming for his head. I may be a Blackhawks fan, but I think anyone would have a hard time defending that hit.
Btw, how about that Crawford. He finally had a decent game. More of the "no soft over-time goal" philosophy please.
